22 years now! Reminds me that I'm an old geezer... (but a bit younger than you ;))

Lol, I am no spring chicken either (36). I do agree, remembering all these classics really show our age. It's a shame that I didn't win, but I sure enjoyed the trip down memory lane. :)
I really miss all the games we all use to play back in the those days, the D&D games like Eye of the Beholder/adventure games like Police quest are still unrivaled.

Sorry, I almost forgot to answer, so old am I! I'm 3 years younger than you ... Right, and I miss the old times because the Indiana Jones and Monkey Island adventures. Maniac Mansion and Day of Tentacle and well, Golden Axe. Can't remember them all, but it was so much fun.

Oh yeah, nothing can beat those adventure games. I use to play Maniac Mansion for hours on end, the funny thing about Golden Axe is no matter how many times you beat it; You just kept on replaying it..lol Nowadays once you beat a game the replay value just doesn't seem to be there anymore.
I hear yas, there are so many fantastic releases back then it's impossible to name them all.

Oh, in Zak McKracken I was so psyched about going to the mars with a VW bus. I loved that game so much. And yes, Golden Axe I played with friend almost every day, again and again. Back then we only had one game of that quality! lol

Zak McKracken was simply awesome, when I think about the stale bread that breaks the sidewalk when it's thrown from the window, I still can't help but laugh.
The funny part about Zak McKracken is that it was tied into Maniac Mansion perfectly. Like the chainsaw you find in Maniac Mansion, but you find the gas can in Zak McKracken when you visited mars (if I remember correctly).

I remember the sidewalk breaking bread! :) But I have to admit that I can't remember good as you do. I was really young and mostly feelings about the time are left. Playing was for me always more about fun than competition and since I have wife and kid I'm kind of casual gamer. I guess the old time won't come back, but I love to have family. :)

Theres nothing wrong with family :) , pass the gaming onto the next generation :) .
I have been into gaming since I was very young (six years old), playing the commodore 64, apple 2e, amiga, nintendo, sega master and so on.
Since gaming/computer gaming has been such a huge part of my life is why I remember it so vividly I guess, I can remember playing the classics on the 2600 with my brother and father when I was even younger.

Same with me. I startet gaming in the 80ies, because my older brother had a C64 (with Datasette, haha). 1990 I had my first own PC, an IBM (PS/2 Model 30-286). Great times. But when I studied I only played some games like PES with my friends, never alone. Nothing to do with gaming, but those were better times. Sure, let's chat next week. I will add you then! Have a nice weekend! :)
