Your logic fails, quarter means there are 4 equal parts, if you have 5 quarters, the it had to come from 2 apples, because there is no such thing as 1 and a quarter apple.

Except if we are talking for parallel dimensions.The same apple can exists in parallel dimensions and you get 4 quarters from one dimension and one quarter from the other.But the apple still has 4 quarters :D .paranormal explanation :P

The 5 quarters of the apple exist on the table at the same time?Or you count them 1 by 1?For example 1 quarter you get it back to the apple and then you place it again/or another quarter and count it as 2 etc.In that way you can have as many quarters you want but the apple is still 4 quartewrs big.
