They count as bundle games, and as such abide by the usual rules set out, for bundle games.

This is very wrong.

Your bundle contribution is capped.
This is the calculation: ((NonBundleContribution + $25) 0.2) + $25*

Why adding 25$ twice?

Because the $25 of bundle that counts as non-bundle needs to be included in the 20%

Because math.

Not fully. You can read the rule somewhere in the FAQ. It makes things so much better.

Any indie bundle that gives individuals keys can be used to do this easily.

$1 to Groupees would do it.

The contribution was abused long before The Ship... the same kind of thing happened with those DLC Premium Cards, and Trine 1, Virus Named Tom keys.

Or any bundle. It's not hard to get $30 'worth' of bundle games, in a $1 bundle.

If you don't want bundlers to enter your giveaway, just set contribution requirements to above $30. Problem solved.

Don't forget that DLC doesn't count so all that free amazon DLC can raise it past $30.

20$ for first, 10$ for second.
If I were you, I'd honestly rather make a raffle on the forum or the first to solve a puzzle has to Steam-message you a secret keyword and gets the game. People would respect you more than basicly abusing the contribution system.

I have to say I don't agree this falls under abuse. Expect my giveaway very soon ppl. After that, next giveaway will be a Sonic DLC.
EDIT: Blame the giveaways with contribution points.

yep expect some radical increase on contributor requirements on some giveaways until that "SHIT" value has been reduced to nothing
