What does (US/AU) on a tradeable game mean?

So i have a copy of GTA 4 in my inventory and it says: Grand Theft Auto IV (US/AU).
I asked some friends and some say its only for USA/Australia while others say its regional free. Also could it be censored? Thanks.

Prices are different everywhere for explain Russia got the cheapest games so depending on region games cost more or less.

Regional lock is depend on who is distributing specific game.

It is region restricted. See here. It cannot be purchased in the following countries:
China
Myanmar
Venezuela
Saudi Arabia
Thailand
Kuwait

I think people in those countries should be able to activate it though.

You read that wrong actually. It means those countries cannot purchase the game.

Yeah, it would seem odd that it could only activate in those but has pricing for other countries.
