If the military aspect is a major point you're looking for, you might also like the Hegemony series (I didn't try the latest one, Hegemony III Clash of the Ancients, but the previous two were great). It is full real time (as opposed to Total War and King Arthur), but it has a huge focus on logistics (mantaining and supplying troops and fortresses is fundamental). Not much diplomacy or city/region management though. Also, you might check the Mount & Blade series.

ryuga made some good suggestions, but imho he forgot the most similar game: Knights of Honor.
With this mod, you even gain Full HD support (and more).

So... Knights of Honor installed and 1 day later I've played 7 hours... addictive and keeps me busy! so many things happening on the screen. I don't think I've installed the mod correctly so will have to retry that. Thanks again for the recommendation!

That's what happens when you play Grand Strategy games, even Grand Strategy light, as in this case. ;)
Recommending the game made me play it too yesterday. I tried Zeta twice, in the high middle ages. Failed both times. Too tiny, with too many big neighbors. I'll be back for more!
Maybe you should play without the mod, at least for the first time. The tutorial is bugged with the full hd mod. And a more complex economy might be too much for beginners too.

This is very light, for this specific subgenre. It seems you are familiar with some Paradox Interactive games, so you should be (painfully) aware. ;D
Besides tactical combat missing, their games are superior in everything else. Diplomacy, trade and economy, strategic warfare etc.

Lords of Magic was made by the same company and is kinda Lords of the Realm II with a fantasy look. It's not as good though.
Still in the same ballpark as Lords of the Realm (but not really similar) we have Knights of Honor
And even less like Lords of the Realm, we have the Total War series.
Moving in the opposite direction, Warlords 4 has some surface similarities. More so than the much better Warlords 3 (can't speak for Warlords 1 & 2 as I've not played them).

No, sadly not :( Only Warlords Battlecry is currently for sale online, and that's a very different game. And well, PuzzleQuest: Challenge of the Warlords, but it goes without saying that that's a very different game (it is actually a part of the Warlords series)

Any recommendation of games that are similar to Lords of the Realm II?
