it seems that thereby they want to blow up all NASA computers too, then no one will fly into space! very clever.

lol 770 or 290 wtf... 290 is better grade gpu. 280x have about the same fps as 770 in any review

and again.. why 3770 vs 8350 ... if 8350 is good as i5... why not 3570 or 8350

I really hate official specs..

cuz logic -> with i5 u can play any new game(even for the next few years) without any problems and suddenly witcher devs tell u u need i7 for best experience ;),total bullshit lol I can bet u can even play witcher 3 on i3 3rd or 4th gen on ~ high specs with a decent GPU,lmao

well linus tech tips did a video using a gtx970 and a G2358 as cpu...and games was running almost like an i5 and an i7-5960X

thats because most games even (most) the ones that are about to come out this year utilize only 2 CPU cores, maybe witcher 3 will utilize 4 and thats why they have minimum of quad core CPUs as requirement?

Ok for me, I meet the high CPU Requirements FX-8350, and better than minimum GPU, Radeon HD 7950 with Boost. And all other stuff too.

The dx11 and 64-bit part I can believe, as we've had a few titles like this before.
The 6GB of RAM minimum makes me quirk a brow though.

"Official" minimum requirements put out lately always seem to be over-inflated to make up for lack of optimisation.
I still chuckle remembering Watch_Dogs specs.

Please don't tell me you're serious comparing CDP RED's game to Ubi$oft's "game"...

well if you look how they don't give a fuck about specs comparing a 8350 to an i7, a 290 to 770... you can tell they don't give a fuck about what they are writings... someone said "well put some high grade stuff there...and some old mid range for minimum"

Ahahahahahahahahahahahahaahahaha, oh wait you're serious...
Please don't ever compare a company like Ubi to a developer team like CDP RED.

but we must admit that the requirements are fucked up lol, minimum - i5 , recommended - i7 lol ? I can bet u will be able to run the game smoothly on dual cores like i3 on med/high ...

Well, The Witcher 3 was meant to be demanding as hell from the very beginning so I'm not sure why are you surprised there's i7 in recommended. As someone below said physics, AI, etc. are really CPU intensive in a world like that. I mean this particular world, The Wild Hunt's world which, as we all know, is filled up to the maximum with content.

and u know there are many other games like that right? just not as demanding but still utilizing even only 2 CPU cores they pull off hundreds of fps,I am pretty sure that even if I for example park 2 of my i5's cores on purpose when the game comes out I will still be able to play the game smoothly...

i5, 8GB RAM and GTX660.

Welp, at least I'm in the minimum range :-/

I'm just under minimum for GPU, CPU is slightly over minimum and I've got the recommended RAM. I guess that I can count on "cinematic experience" at ultra low details.

And by the way. I think there will be a visible difference between running on i5 and i7. 60 fps might not be achievable on i5. Physics and AI are rather CPU intensive in large environments.

Atm, Over recommended (i7-3960X, 16GB), expect GPU which is way below minimum :P
GPU should be fixed way before release thought...

LOL i5 2500K is better than 8350 most of the times and they listed 2500K under minimum and 8350 under recommended. I guess they only read that it has 4 ghz and 8 cores, but still performs worse than 3.3 ghz 4 cores 2500k...

It's also funny to put 2500K and Phenom II X4 940 in the same category.

It's confusing me too: I have an FX-6300, which is better than that Phenom II X4 940, but it can't be compared to an i5 2500k.

The CPU requirement is probably nonsense; I actually have an i5-2500K and the newest generation i7 is barely better, with Intel getting lazy since there's not enough competition from AMD. Nothing much to expect there until Skylake. My poor HD 6800 won't keep up though...

Well, with this, Skylake, monitors supporting FreeSync/GSync, and Windows 10, it looks like my new rig is due in a few months. Nice how things are coming together.

More threads, I'd guess it's about that. Consoles have eight, so it makes sense to optimize / design for eight.
