1: If Steam suspects fradulent activity on your account, it will be suspended.
2: If you create and use an alt account on the same computer as your main account, and the alt is suspended for fradulent activity, this can lead to your main account being suspended as well.

Ok so here's the situation.
A Friend of mine, who lives outside of the US, received a Visa gift card or whatever as payment for a game account. Said friend wants to buy stuff from Steam, but it's telling him he can't use that card because the card's country of origin is different from his IP or something along those lines. He's asked me to use the card to buy him some stuff on Steam, and is offering me a game in exchange.
This is someone I trust well enough to do this for, but I don't know anything about the guy he got the card from in the first place, so I'd like to cover my ass as much as possible in the event that the card turns out stolen, or the original purchase is rolled back or whatever. So here's what I am wondering.
1: If it ends up being a "bad" card, would my account be banned?
2: If I create and use a new Steam alt, is my main account safe from any related bans?
Thanks.
