Hi
You used to be able to collect cards for a turn of discovery but now I see that you only get stickers right?

There might be cards for buying games. Dunno. Steam is broken ATM of course, lol, so we'll see soon. Discovery queue is just stickers though for sure. I got three for checking mine out.

9 stickers total for doing queues....

I am giving steam the finger on them, not doing queues for stickers, if they want me to go through and potentially buy/wishlist things... they need to give me cards, even google pays me better to google random things(once got paid over 50 cents googling things to solve puzzles here >>)

I do enjoy the periodic gift cards from Bing for doing what I'd do anyway.

That's sweet right there! I like when they reward you for simply living your life.

With card barons from third world countries around the world buying and selling literally 10's of millions of cards every day and somehow making more money than actual workers in first world countries it's only to be expected they are cracking down heavily on the card system and might possibly remove it altogether. From what I saw you have to keep a card for an entire week to market it now. You also have to use the steam mobile app to confirm sales for more than a few cents, I know I had to confirm on a foil card for 30c and might be even lower than that. And before people point fingers, it's not a steam trying to keep the poor man down thing. It's a government and legal thing, big brother wants his cut thing.

i blame the banana clicker games and other clones that are shuffling around an actual FUCK TON OF MONEY!!!!! that it created from nothing.
steam is making insane bank of it as well so they are doing nothing about it
days when over 2.7 mil of the most basic banana were being sold for 0.03$ that means steam makes 0.01$ and the creator makes 0.01. im sure they sink a small amount of money back in to fake inflate the system like most do

Technically speaking that money wasn't created from nothing given that it has to come from someone's wallet, so it'd be more accurate to say that it was scammed out of peoples pockets en mass.
It was just a matter of time until something like Banana happened, Steam had its market set up just right for exploitation.

Yeah that dev is definitely pushing against the limits of what's legal, but if companies like Amway manage to somehow still operate internationally despite the fact that everyone knows that it's a pyramid scheme and those are illegal in most places I'm not all that shocked that a "game" is left alone scamming a fortune one cent at a time.

You are aware that the users earn money with such stuff, for free. Or?
And then spend this money to buy games and pay from their wallet, that they don't paid something for.
So steam don't earn then money and instead give a part of the games for free.
Publishers and steam lose money with this. At least as soon as the user earn more as 0.01 and have a bigger cut as steam.

It isn't like they print money for themself, as your text sounds a bit like.

Not sure I'm still up to date but I think what you're talking about is if you used recently purchased cards to craft a badge the resulting sale card has a cooldown before you can sell it.

A few days ago I crafted a few badges with cards I've had sitting in my inventory for a while and the resulting Mystery cards were instantly marketable.

I think it works like this:
If you craft a badge including just a single card you purchased 1 hour ago the sale card will have a cooldown of 6 days 23 hours.
If you craft a badge with a card you bought 5 days ago the cooldown will just be 2 days.

It has been like that for a long time now.

That's been the same for a few years now, too. And it's a bit random. Cards above ~1 EUR seem to always trigger the confirmation requirement, under that it's a crapshoot. Sometimes 30 cent cards trigger it (though it's not that common), sometimes even 70-80 cents cards don't.

It's very sad. I loved the steam cards and don't need so many stickers at all. How oft do you use them? I am using only a few of them and never use the others. Unfortinatly you can get all stickers ore none of them. You can't delate the stickers you don't like and they don''t give a levelup any longer.

Besides its a steam SALE and steam offers me the steam deck with 0% Discount.
Would prefer to ignore this steam sale at all.
