Whats the point of splitting indie bundles into 4/8/12 if I cant join one...?

I think the splitting is merely for the sake that it shows the correct prices/games. Before it has been like someone buying Indie Gala -bundle with $1 and then having the giveaway as $5 which suggests that it is "Beat the average". So it was a little deceiving.

Ah, so you're one of those that enter "complete pack/goty/whatever" giveaways even though you have the base game and several DLCs. VGG.

I just took a look at a Humble Indie Bundle V giveaway, and the Enter button is available to me even though I have all of the games in the bundle (because I bought it). So I'm not sure why you're being prevented from entering bundles if you only have some of the games from them. I'd actually kind of like it if the site recognized that you were ineligible for a bundle if you have all, or maybe over half, of the games in it, but that doesn't seem to be happening for me. I guess you could try things like restarting the browser, clearing the cache and/or cookies, and restarting your computer. If the problem doesn't fix itself, you might need to ask support here for assistance.

Edit: And the split is probably for the reason Kyklone said -- to distinguish between different versions of the bundles at different prices.
