I never made such a comment that some specific sale sucked before. I am not hard to get pleased and also I don't want to whine, I like to appreciate what I have already. While I was enjoying the sales way more some years ago compared to the the last ones, now I couldn’t help but notice that this was the first time that not even a single game from my Wishlist got a -70% discount (that consists of 157 indie titles - no AAA games) it seems unusual and worth mentioning.

I have to admit, that I spent more time browsing Epic Games Store than I did with Steam today. Those 10€ coupons are so much better than steam's 4,50€ coupon that you don't even get right away.

The REAL sleezebag thing is it seems you need to buy one to get a special 'all missions done' badge since one of the missions is use an animated chat thingie.

I wouldn't be too sure about that...
it says (quote) "New quest every day at 10AM PST" quest, singular, not quests. Meaning, they gave us 6 quests on the first day and one more each day. They also say "Mayor Carol’s final Holiday Quest lands on Jan 1st, 2020." that's in 13 days, so 600 + 1300 = 1900 tokens vs. 5000 needed for the discount. There might be some extra tokens for completing all quests etc, but I doubt anyone can get the discount without spending anything.

It says 2k tokens for free max on the Steamsville page. So you'd still need 3k for the coupon. which equals whatever the conversion is for your local currency, around $30 USD I think at least. Afterwards you can get the coupon but can only use it on your next purchase.

F that. I mean, you're absolutely correct, but having to spend $30 to get a $5 coupon? I kinda assumed that for jumping through all the hoops that Steam wants us to jump through to get the tokens, we'd at least get a $5 coupon out of it by the end. But we're not even going to be close, so it's just a huge waste of time and effort.

If we can get 1,900 tokens free, that means you need around $40 of purchases in Canada for the coupon. I just checked. (For anyone also trying to figure out how much they'd need to spend and whether it's worth it.)

Ouch. I was happy to get the 5000 tokens coupon as I plan to spend around 50€ from my Steam wallet. Oh well...
Edit : I was totally okay to spend what was required to get the voucher with my wallet, 30 to 50€. Now that I won't get the voucher, I'll probably just get The Evil Within 2 for 7.49€ and keep the rest for Summer Sale hoping for better prices and/or a voucher allowing the wallet funds.

I find it amusing that to complete the 6th quest, you have to spend the 500 tokens you got from the other 5 to get a chat sticker. I guess they're going to make the Key to the City badge a no-net-token-gain process... :P

At the right hand side of the quest entry. There's a button to redeem a sticker. As far as I can tell, it randomly gives you one of the 500 token stickers. I got the snowball fight. :P

If you vote in the steam awards you get steam trading cards. I voted for all 8 sections and only got 7 cards. I think the system is bugging and ate my card. :'(

How did you even to to the voting stage? Whenever I click the "vote now" button, it just takes me back to the Store landing page.

Maybe they won't block users from buying multiple games one after another because the site doesn't have a shopping cart.
And hopefully this time Epic checked with its game devs & publishers first to ensure they won't remove games from the store during a sale.

All that things aside, they have better sale, by a long shot. While we have to spend a ton to get $5 off coupon (and no wallet money, because reasons), they just give multiple $10 off for $15+ purchases. Lets not even mention good freebies.

Well, not for games that are only sold on Steam, also, many games (like the Danganronpa series) only get good discounts on Steam, but are always sold at full price on 3 rd party sellers like the Humble store.
