I just noticed that one of the carts I entered still has five hours left, so it's not over yet!
I enjoyed this event immensely, I loved how how it got everyone talking and excited again. I think I missed that around these parts.
Just a thought: I think it would be cool if the next community train occurred around Christmas time. I think it would be a fun idea if it were set to end on the day after, like a second round of unexpected presents of sorts ^_^

The craftsmanship, the interior design, the thoughts of such sophisticated architect. I can't even fathom price that is placed on the residence. The tightness of the design to fit the residence exactly for their needs. The one explicit and daring open window that explodes the user and the needs for air, light and view. Such Details such thoughtfulness! ;)

Xmas time would be probably the worst time for a train ;p Because during Xmas there is A LOT of different events and initiatives on SG - both group/private ones and public ones, all of them sucking out your points, and boy does this train require a lot of points... ;p
I say if we would like to host it annually best pick a time where it would collide the least with other annual SG stuff (so away from Xmas! ;p) - so users could focus more on this event - both point-wise and wallet-wise ;p

still harder than any other month. Plus second point - wallet, think about contributors, during Xmas a lot of contributors are tied with other events - on SG and outside of it, meaning they can donate much less (both time and actual monies) to yet another event.

+1 to that, right in the middle between Summer Sale (June) and Winter Sale (December), right after summer vacations end so all users who still go to school are after vacations so they won't be áfk'.

The event was good. The only things i could wish to make it better next time, is to forbid giveaways of FREE games (for example from humble stamps and so on). It was really frustrating, cos more than 95% people have it (in comparison with other giveaways entries), and a lot of people for some reason created tons of those.
Also the second thing is to set minimal level to 2, or even 3-4 to avoid participation of bots. If you will check some of the entries, you will see the amount of bots hanging around in giveaways with no level restrictions.

Blank steam profile, or private profile. On steamgifts there wasn't a single giveaway created, but has around 100-300 wins. Mostly used by card farmers, just to get free trading cards to farm.
Sometimes have some weird name, or just random number. There might be more shady things, if you look more carefully.
Also if you check few of profiles via sgtools, they will for 100% sure have some non activated gifts (key or gift was regifted to the main account of the bot owner)

Unless they have unactivated wins or private profile, what can we do? You can't ask for reroll just because profile is blank or is a leecher

Yes, whenever I see empty profiles I guess they are alt accounts and blacklist them.

None of those things are guarantees of a bot. Indicative of the possibility, but nowhere near definite.
It's my understanding that this "Community Train" was created for members of the community, and level 0, despite not creating giveaways, are members of this community. In fact, events like this may actually inspire some of those level 0's to create giveaways of their own. And if a user has broken rules, report them - they'll be suspended and it'll be done with.

its the main reason why the best GA i made on the train (Darkest Dungeon) wasn't lvl gated.
its because as much as people dont like it. lvl 0s are part of the community. and they might just need one small push to actually fully join and contribute.

It's my understanding when a member sees level 3 restriction, that should finally inspire him to create several giveaways, to boost up his level and participate at the event (Especially when it's very long, like this one was 3 weeks or so).
And yeah, i have nothing to do with my life, so i for sure can waste my time hunting for bots, reporting them, blacklisting them (instead of just setting a level restriction, lol what, such an easy way available?)

That sort of exclusionary thinking isn't something that fosters community involvement, in my opinion. In my opinion, you don't have to be a certain level or make a certain $$$ amount of giveaways to be a constructive, contributing member of this community.

i also have read your "something that fosters community involvement".
while this train was growing, thought about my first month, first 2 months here. "Discussions" weren't that appealing.
i've checked these pages only a few times. the site front page + the search function was kinda enough for me. Discussions are our community, so, maybe, next time, could be a nice idea to put a few 50x giveaways on front page, with a link here, a simple copy&paste template for back and next links and foster, foster like there's no tomoro.

i totally get where you are at but sadly even lvl 2 and 3 can be easily gotten with a couple of dollar bundles by bots/leechers. i get where you are with the free games too but in my opinion i dont see the big problem with free. yeah lots might have them but its nice for anyone who couldnt get them to win (i for one didnt have stories path of destinies). all in all it was about getting the community together. im sure who ever creates the next train will look into everyones suggestion to create an even better one

I have nothing against leechers, but when it comes to leeching from multiple accounts, and regifting the winnings, yeah that becomes way out of line. That's like a double or triple deordination. So the best option is to stick to level 3 at the very least

IMPORTANT EDIT!
I would like to give a special thanks to both Canis and icaio for not only their HUGE contribution , but for also pretty much helping me organize this event. this train would be no where near where it is right now if not for both of them. we are now THE LONGEST TRAIN ON THIS SITE! and i couldn't ... we couldn't have done this without them. so , form the bottom of my heart. thank you. i never thought we would end up here , but here we are. I am honestly overwhelmed by how big this has gotten. when i first made this event , i never thought we would break the 400 mark. but many contributions later we are almost at 1300. AND WE STILL HAVE 11 DAYS LEFT!
i will make a complete list of people that have contributed in the train later on with links to their profile by the time we are done with a special thanks. there are way too many to list now.

In case of games that haven't been released yet and games that were just added to the SteamGifts database. they will have a 0P cost until release or the Database catches up. so the rule for those is that as long as their cost wont be 5P once that happens , then the game is good. it is easy to figure out what the price range is going to be by simply look at the store page. had to add this rule mid event cause there was nothing about stuff like this and i honestly didn't think about it.
Check your GA comments regularly until you get a link for the next cart. You are responsible for adding the NEXT link in your GA description to keep the train

Sorry it took so long to add this in , but i actually forgot to do this even though i should have.
while i did say this was the 3.0 event , i forgot to explain or even mention the origin and the real person behind this idea.
The OG behind this event is Xarlor who came up with the first community train about 10 months ago.
it was done again by UserCar007 about 8 months ago with some changes that i have decided to keep. which were disallowing DLCs and adding a game value requirement .
I am simply adding into this event by restarting it for the third time , and i should have done this sooner but i really would like to thank both of Xarlor and UserCar007.
