Won a giveaway but blacklisted?

After a week of waiting, I marked the giveaway "not received". When I checked back the giveaway, I got blacklisted. What and why?

well i am not sure but what i can recommend is that you add the guy on steam and 2 contact support see if they can help you out

No way to know, assuming you never got the key, you did what you had to, so no need to worry about it.

You did check the won page for your key, right?

Sorry to pull a captain obvious, but did you check the giveaway for instructions in the description? Check the email attached to your SG account? Did you accidentally reject a friend request from the GA creator thinking it was spam?

Feel free to disregard me if Captain Obvious was once again unneeded \:3/

If I recalled correctly, there is no instructions attached to the giveaway. I couldn't even see the creator now because of the blacklist.
Do I receive a penalty for it?

You can see the giveaway if you copy the link to the giveaway and open it while you are signed out of your SG account. You can do this by signing out, using a browser where you are not signed in, or opening the link in a private/incognito tab.

There is no penalty, you have done nothing wrong. If you mark the giveaway as "not received", the giveaway creator will lose 1 giveaway slot.

You should check your email address that you registered here with and see if you received the game in an email. Check your junk mail folder as well. You may also want to try and add the giveaway creator on Steam and see what he says about it. If he doesn't speak your language, I have been very successful using google translate. Try to keep the sentences fairly simple without spelling mistakes, slang, or shortened words to get a good translation.

Edit: I see the giveaway creator created two giveaways that ended on the same day, one for Deadlight, and another for Deadlight: Director's Cut. Maybe he messed up and created two giveaways, but only had 1 key.

I agree, I wasn't trying to say that it was. I have no idea why he was blacklisted or if there was a good reason for it. I was just pointing out something I noticed as a possible reason as to why the key wasn't sent.

that's no reason to blacklist someone for something that is not the winner's fault. creator should've submitted a ticket or something to report if he did mess up.

Let me tell you why you got blacklisted .

Back in 1817 your Grand Grand Grand Father and the Ga Creator Grand Grand Grand father both ran a business selling shoes
1 Day yours ( lets call him Bob ) decided that he want to sell his shoes alone and opened the chain Bobshoes , the Ga creator one ( lets call him Ros) got angry that Bob betray him and pledged a 200 year old grudge that he will get back at him someday.

And there we are , the grand grand grand children is finally taking the revenge on Ros behalf .

That pretty much sums it up

The creator is claiming you haven't responded to emails at all despite having been sent the gift. I'm guessing there's a faulty email at the root of all this. In any case, it sounds like you two need to work on communication.

If you don't get a gift you won within several days post a message in the giveaway asking about it. emails bounce or get eaten by the spam detector sometimes, and when that happens the giveaway creator will have no way of knowing unless you tell them.
