I didn't find much difference while playing with it either :/
About the recording feature - I used it couple of months ago, and I remember it did quite well performance wise (it did not change my fps in the games I recorded although my pc is pretty slow :D) and the recordings were really small but the quality of the videos was not that great. If performance is the main factor I'd say it is pretty good, but if you want recordings with really good quality I believe you could find a better program to use.

Tested it a while ago with Dota 2 and it slowed everything down
Uninstalled it after that..

I see no notable performance boost or loss. but it adds a inconvenience that you have to start it everytime.

Useless if you have like 1-2gb of ram maybe...? Thats a pretty big maybe though...

So I guess everyone's experience was somewhat similar.
My guess is that it's aimed at people who don't know themselves, what should be left on and what should be shut down while gaming. Since I only run Steam, Antivirus and sometimes Winamp while gaming, and I have actually disabled most of the useless default features which eat up a lot of resources - it does nothing.

Any of you guys use it / find it useful? It supposedly shuts down any background services that use CPU / RAM, to enchance your gaming experience and increase performance.
I remember downloading it a while back (I believe I got into the beta testing) and most of the features it shut down, I had actually already shut down myself, using msconfig. It only freed up some tens of MB of RAM, which really isn't much if you have 4 GB installed.
Now while wandering around YouTube, I found out that it has another feature - video recording, called "screencast", I believe. It is meant to record your screen more efficiently (not only resource wise, but also file size) than Fraps / Xfire and other screen recorders out there.
So, again - any of you use it? Why do you use it / does it help? I'm not really into creating videos, but if it really allowed me to record while maintaining 30ish FPS, I might get into it.
