Hey guys, so Google Music finally released their family plan at $14.99 for 6 members per month. I already am a subscriber ($9.99) for their regular plan, and was wondering if there was anyone interested in joining a family plan (I could just pay for the plan and get google play gift cards in return). The more the better obviously - if we could get 6 people, it would cost us each $2.5 per month). Anyone interested?

what do you like about Spotify better? (not attacking, genuinely curious)

The playlist organization, browsing, the management of friends / ability to see who's listening to what, plugins, the mobile app.. Technically I like everything better (and yes, I tried Google Music for a bit as well). Even Apple Music felt a bit better.

EDIT: By the way, the community is THE BEST! Spotify is very personal, they stay close to their customers and even invite people to their HQ for some events. Google is just a big name and it feels so cold. Might be just my personal feeling but that's the point, right?

I know about the limit very well as I'm an Ideas Guardian in the community ;) Even though I'm kinda retired, I haven't had much time for it this year that's why I was ranked a Community Legend until I'm back.

BUT this limit is only for your saved songs list to keep a good performance in the clients. You can still save tons and tons and tons of music in different playlists. :)
The only limit I'm annoyed by is the save offline limit.. But I can also live with that, actually it's much better for my storage space then when I didn't use a Streaming service and saved a bajillion songs on my phone. :D Has always been a pain in the ass to make free space..

Nah it really is the performance, look at the collection in the Desktop client.. They need to change the coding because for some users it really get laggy when they reach a certain limit and when the library displays all album covers etc. Apple and Google have much more workers than Spotify do and since only 1% of people hit this limit, it's not a priority for them unfortunately.

I'm also more of a album listener but I collect my albums like this: I add the first title of an album to a playlist to create a shortcut for it. You can have playlists sorted alphabetically or by genre, date etc and just put in the first title. This at least makes me remind myself of some music if there's no more room in the library :)

Very interesting. With all 6 it would be half the price of spotify for students and includes YT Red. I usually prefer to buy my music instead but at that price it's tempting

On one hand, it's cool that they're including YouTube Red as part of the deal, I hate to see it be successful and encourage even more ads on YouTube.

unless the ad increase would be only if it isn't successful because they need more people to subscribe
