I recently won a copy of Might and Magic Clash of Heroes from this site and loved it. This type of game isn't normally my type of thing, I'm more of a first person shooter lover, but when I start playing it, I can't stop! After seeing that Might and Magic Heroes VI is on sale this weekend 50% off I'm considering buying it.

Just wanted to know of anyone already owns this game? Is it good/worth the money?

Also, what are the differences between the standard edition and the deluxe edition?

Cheers :)

EDIT: Out of interest, does anyone know of any games similar to Might and Magic Clash of Heroes?

You understand that Clash of Heroes and HoMM are different games right? First is a puzzle game, second one is a turn base RTS. It's like Puzzle Quest and Skyrim.

They are quite different games, just based in the same universe. If you have played any of the King's Bounty games, Might and Magic Heroes VI is the same type of gameplay. It's a reasonably good game, just depends on your tastes to whether you will like it or not.

A turn-based real-time strategy, Gregnar? That's one quaint beast. ;)

The two are indeed different games, but the puzzley aspect of combat does in fact linger in all Heroes of Might & Magic games (which is what most love them for). Try out the demo and see for yourself: http://might-and-magic.ubi.com/heroes-6/en-gb/news/details.aspx?c=tcm:21-22448&ct=tcm:6-231-32

Better check demo first since Heroes of Might & Magic series is a bit different from Clash of Heroes.

If you haven't played HoMM2 & 3, you'll probably find this game good enough. As for myself, I tried it, and uninstalled it a week later.

It looked fairly different but had no idea as its not what I usually play haha. I will definitely have a go at the demo before buying it. It was the puzzle aspect that I enjoyed more than anything so. Thanks for everyone's responses.

Creatures are very different and the city's have been ruined because the camera doesn't move around the city and ist as massive as it once was dynasty weapons are over-powered the campaign is a bit easier the in the V and less bugy.

Holy crap punctuation.

Thanks, although I don't really have much to compare it too as it will be the first game of this sort I have ever played.

Go to GoG and buy HoMM3. Best $10 you'll ever spend on a game ;)

When it comes to HoMM, III is the best. V is good too, with the expansions it's almost as good with III and has better graphics. VI is a bit of a letdown in comparison, but maybe if it gets some good expansions like VI did, it'll be a decent game.

Overall, I'd say get V first if you're new to the series. You can get HoMM V and all expansions for the same price HoMM VI is right now, and it's a much better deal IMO.

That's not a bad idea. I think I may try the demo for VI and if I like it, buy the V pack and VI anyway haha.

Puzzle Kingdoms is similar, though not nearly as good. The puzzle gameplay is solid, but the story is among the worst I've seen in video gaming. Still, might be worth picking up if you find it very cheap.

Haven't tried any of the other Puzzle Quest games myself, so can't vouch for those.

I got the non-steam version during release and I really enjoyed the game. Ubisoft's draconian DRM ruined the game for me though... They require you to be always connected to the internet (even if you're only playing singleplayer) and a little lag or disconnect will boot you out of the game without any prompts or chance to save your progress. Only get it if you have a stable connection; offline mode sucks as you won't have full access to everything (Dynasty Mode, which is a huge part of the game).

Having played 2, 3, 4, 5, and recently 6 (with my favourite being the 3rd) I would say if you like turn based strategy games you should play it. You might want to try the previous ones first (V actually , the first ones might seem quite old at the moment). Only thing I hate about it is Uplay...:(
