I just love your mom. kidding too :X
Thanks, that's good news to about your friend, hope it can also stay that way, unfortunately it can always happen to anyone.
I read good stories about how ginger is also very good against fighting cancer, when i showed my dad he when to buy ginger pills and will still continue to take them, who is to say what really helps or not, but if people facing such things, anything that can even help just remotely, it's worth it.

Congrats on the positive outcome. I don't get along with my father (or my mother, for that matter) all that well either at times, but it's a reality that he has fewer days ahead of him than have passed. We should make the most of what remains, and I will strive to love my parents better while I can.

Nice to hear that. Take care of your parents in whatever way you can people, even if it is just bringing a loaf of bread around occasionally.

You gonna find the cure one day? :p
Sometimes it's on tv shows how there's another big breakthrough etc just to never hear from it anymore.
It's also scary if you know how much money is involved in research and such, and how if there was a cure that money flow would all stop.

ah, the new cures are chronic.
meaning, you have to take the pill for the rest of your life, but small price to pay right?

Well pharmaceutical companies are interested in making new drugs for cardio diseases, diabetes and so on, as people have to take them for many years. They don't look for drugs on like rare genetic conditions, as it's not profitable for them.
Also tests can take up to 10 years, so they have to be at least moderately certain they will make money out of it.
And it'd be nice to "find cure for cancer", but those cells are so diverse, that someone's gonna get instant-Nobel if they will manage to do it D:

No clickbait, while some people here easily opened up about relatives and them facing struggles and such, i never really liked posting about my family.
My dad had to do chemo for the last months against bladder cancer, today were the results and i am very happy it's gone and remain positive that iit will stay that way. He still has one operation to go for his heart, but i am going to stay positive on that too.
While my dad and I didn't always get along in the past, in the end we do love each other. Love your parents when you can.
I am not stating Ginger (the root!, not the people! :p) is a miracle cure (in whatever form you can get it), but i let my dad take ginger pills, and if it helps or not, even it can give that extra little bit of help, then those few bucks it cost, is more then worth it.
If you try it, take it beside your normal treatments.
