Cyanic said right after it went up that it'd be a 48 hour preorder, and he updated the counter every so often, and he never said it'd start early if preorders ran out, etc.
If you feel it was a clusterfuck, that was due to others making their own assumptions about the bundle than anything Groupees did or didn't do. :X
Which isn't to say Groupees couldn't have presented it better (like using an actual countdown timer, for one), but it was mostly handled in a forthright and responsive manner- or at least, they never said anything misleading, this bundle.

Bundle hits 'Soon'. Cyanic clarifies that this bundle is the same as all the other limited quantity bundles, except that the limited quantity extends only to preorder copies.

He sets a timer using chat commands. He continues to check in through the preorder period, activating the command to give us an updated time-till-launch.

What exactly more did you want from him, given that he doesn't have direct access to bundle elements, and thus couldn't set an 'official' timer, or such? :X
Groupees was disorganized about some things, to be sure [they always are], but at no point did I find anything in this bundle misleading or unreasonably delayed in presentation.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not with the "clusterfuck" guy above, I'm merely pointing out the communication could have been a lot clearer than this.
What do I want more? Instead of handling the launch via (more or less) a single person who is asked questions and then tries to reply, and then there's hearsay etc, they could have just put up a blog post explaining how exactly it was going to work.
It's not a huge problem either, I'm merely pointing out that bundle trackers aren't to blame here, because the communication was lacking.

Rather, while Cy has a history of miscommunication, I don't see that he deserves to get jumped on this time around. He's stated clearly before he has no direct control over how bundles are handled, so we can't put that on him.
That aside, Groupees certainly could use for better organization, and I've certainly rang that bell myself in the past. :X And no, certainly not blaming anyone, just saying that assumptions and miscommunications led to more assumptions, and people started reaching for pitchforks a bit too readily. Noone was to blame, as we were all- on both sides of it- trying to support a smooth bundle launch.

There's lots out there who seem ready to pick theirs up at the drop of a hat... not sure why but I do see a lot of negative hyperbole, frankly preposterous claims, and general aggressiveness that doesn't really seem justified to me.
Groupees could certainly polish their act up but at the end of the day they seem generally OK.

It took some time and.. ahem, some encouragement, but they fixed that.
Polls are abusable? Took time, got fixed.
You mention a charity isn't reputable? They'll find a new one for the bundle.
You have an order problem? They usually take care of it for you rather readily.
Their practices may be frustrating at times, but they're never duplicitous, and when all is said and done, they do seem to care about the respectability of their site.
So yeah, a far cry from the constant skeevyness and scamming that is IndieGala, GreenManGaming, or similar.
I mean, I'm a pretty prickly person myself, but this matter was more a matter of chasing smoke than taking umbrage over anything solid. :X

As I recall, it went from 280-odd to 540-odd, so closer to 260. [Though the counter was doing its usual weirdness, so telling- the individuals above are reporting about 160, which isn't at all in line with what I saw when the bump happened =O]
And yes, they were having a lot of payment issues early on, I myself had a single failed purchase.
So it's quite plausible. Moreover, it's in line with the usual number bump on limited quantity bundles.

I'm learning here as talking about my own Groupees account I have 140 bundles and payment (I use PayPal) has always been without problems for me. What I did notice that for several Groupees bundles after the release point it took some time to show the codes.

It's a moot point. Even if they had been adding more bundles [which is highly unlikely, given that this is a normal restocking-of-failed-orders thing that happens each limited quantity bundle], it wouldn't have hurt anyone. The bundle was locked to a static launch time to begin with.
If they HAD added more bundles, it wouldn't have been due to Groupees arbitrarily deciding to do so, it would have been because the developers requiring the limited quantity preorder had decided to allow for more copies to be permitted for presale.
In other words, it's not a matter of trusting Groupees, since there's no duplicity even if there was duplicity, which there almost certainly wasn't. :P

According to Groupees staff, the value of a fluctuating coin is based on [Coins Remaining out of Total Coins Purchased], so in theory each coin spent increases the value of the remaining coins of that type.

If you have a German IP, you cannot activate it no. However, if you use VPN to anywhere out of Germany, you can! And I can confirm you can install the game while being in Germany so. :)
