Restarting Downloads

Dont you guys hate when your are donwloading a big game on steam you have to pause it, and when you resume it, it restarts, and downloads from 0.

Does anyone know why this happens?

Shadow of mordor is 43GB D:!!!!

i heard that if a game gets an update while you're downloading it, download starts over. if it didn't get an update but started over anyway, have no clue. .-.

It says it's starting back from 0, but then jumps ahead to whatever it was when I paused it, for me at least.
