OK, I've had an absolutely shitty day (let's just say I'm within minutes of reenacting this scene, only with my laptop replacing the VHS), but my prospects lightened up when I got of extra money to spend. Even better, two sets of awesome games are withing my grasp: the Fallout Collection and Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic 1 & 2, none of which I have ever played.

Unfortunately, I only have enough money for either the Fallout collection or the KOTOR games. Any suggestions Or should I wait until my laptop problems are sorted out? (Because there's a good chance I'll won't be able to get Windows on my laptop for the foreseeable future. It's a long story, and recounting it will lead to unnecessary violence)

I love both, but the Fallout 1 and 2 have badly aged concerning the graphics end, and I'm far from a graphic whore.
Especially for the 1, it is quite hard to watch with the character meltign in the background. I believe there are some mods out there that should be of huge help though.
Fallout tactics does not suffer that problem.

KoTOR series is also great, and aged better. If you intend to take those, use the Restored Content Mod 1.8.2 to get the full experience for KoTOR II.

both are awesome series but you shouldnt forget that Fallout Series (original ones not failout ones) serve probably better RPG atmosphere and gaming than kotor.

So my vote ; Fallout series

Fallout 1 & 2 are amazing, where as KoToR 2 is fucking 10/10. KoToR 1 is average.

Well, shucks, because I bought the new deal over on IGS (Bleed), it turns out I don't have enough to buy either game (of all the times to be short 5 freakin' cents...). Still, thanks to all who offered their suggestions, they are very much appreciated.

Based on the suggestions, though, I probably would have bought KOTOR. Even though I'm not the biggest Star Wars fan (probably because the first Star Wars movie I ever watched was Episode I, which is... not well liked by some people), I've been dying to try these games out, if only to listen to a certain robot talk about burning holes in some pathetic meatbags.
