I don't feel comfortable with removing you from the whitelist because you've earned your spot. If someone wins from me, I appreciate if the winner entered because he or she intends to play the game some day. Just the intention counts for me, not when or even if it happens.
And I've come to terms with the fact that with the amount of freebies (like Epic giving away a not repeated game each week), it's impossible to keep up with playing everything.
What I do personally is that I'm very selective in which giveaways I enter. So primarily wishlisted games, and even then I check if I'm really still interested in the potential win, and remove the game from my wishlist if I'm not interested any more.
If you want to lower your chances of winning, may I suggest an ESGST filter? You could set the "Projected Chance" to a maximum (e.g. 0.1) and save the filter under a new name. These three settings need to be enabled:

I can relate. It's a compulsion, isn't it? You see a GA for a great game and you just enter knowing that you have a treasure trove that's already overflowing with amazing games you haven't touched yet.
I am however joining the chorus of others in not removing you from my WL. I'm not making many and they are definitely not unmissable ones and I like to keep the good eggs all in one place ;)

meh the chances of you winning a giveaway of mine are slim. And I like your presence on SG, you playing a win asap isn't that big of a factor. Especially consider your humble number of wins. Had you been someone who didn't play their 500 wins, I would think differently. Don't be so hard on yourself. If you wanna play games, just play your wins with the help of PAGYWOSG and BLAEO. Rest is just noise.
Another helpful thing would be to not give a damn about achievements or completion. It's a trap, an absolute waste of time and a useless gimmick. It is a psychologically predatory feature. I feel that is something that might hinder your goal of appreciating your wins and moving on to the next.
A few hours is all you need, address your unfinished ( in terms of the narrative) wins. I'd aim for a game per month, I do the same and I mostly end up playing more. Gaming should never feel stressful or guilt inducing :)

Thank you, though the 100%ist in me can't easily switch off the OCD to do so. I know it's a bad way to be.
I guess I will have to try not to do 100% for some of the longer games on my backlog of wins.

Once I became a mom and a person with way too much on my plate, I managed to refocus my desire to check every nook and cranny instead towards checking every game I have. That has helped me still feel like I'm 100%ing something, if that thought might help you...

Yes, with tiny one, we were lucky to carve out one precious hour of non-essential activity in an evening. I just stopped watching TV so I could use it for a book, crafting a board game, or something that felt kind of...productively fun. TV watching was done while being a baby bed, as ours was basically impossible to put down. Like an ancient TNT box waiting to explode with the slightest jostle.
Some kids sleep I'm told! Maybe you'll get one that sleeps. Will send best hopes for you.

I don't use the whitelist/blacklist feature but if I did you would be on the whitelist, despite your wishes

I can understand your feelings, but usually you're not in someone's WL for nothing..
Plus you have not won so much compared to your gifts. And I'd add your play stats are very good.
Nothing to be ashamed for. So unless it's a real life issue for you, I'd prefer you stay in my WL.

No hard feelings. It takes a lot of strength to apologize and admit one's wrongdoings. So, you're not as bad as you think you are. There is much strength in apologizing and reflecting on this. You're a better person than most. Don't be too hard on yourself.

Hey. You've been in and out of my WL a couple times now. For every funny/witty comment, I eventually come across one that's maybe a bit too mean for my tastes... but I cant help but relate to the feeling of "owing" to people for not playing your wins.
Regardless, in my books, you count as one of SG's top users, both for the GAs themselves and the general activity and "life" you bring to the site.
It is what it is. You've earned your spot in my blue hearts once again and, even if you dont wanna enter any GA, take it as a "I appreciate what you bring to the site". And, if you do enter any, please dont feel bad for not playing your wins right away. Life can and will throw loads at you, so it's perfectly understandable.
Regardless, have a nice one bud.

The way I see it, the fact that you are planning on playing the games you win (and the implication that you only enter GAs for games you want to play) already makes you more deserving of your wins than many of the users of this site.
At the same time, I understand your sentiment. I don't have nearly as much time to spend on video games as I would like; and while I do try to prioritise the games I won on here, I'm already way behind on that (and I'm "only" at 14 wins). Not to mention the fact that I have dozens of other games I want to play, not just on Steam, but on consoles, as well. Recently, all my gaming time gets swallowed up by the PS4, while my Steam games I started days earlier stare at me judgementally...
Anyways, for what my opinion is worth, I say that taking a long time to play doesn't necessarily mean you're not honoring them. You're willing to give them the time and attention they deserve, once you can actually do so, and to me, that deserves a lot of respect.

It is hard, I have definitely stopped joining giveaways I wouldn't play. But man, some of those random games that I feel in love with and would have never played before I love that feeling! You can find so many good games from even just browsing the site it is great! (Not for my wishlist though lol) I try to give every win a chance and play it. Sometimes I won a game and thought I would love and then I just absolutely hated it (or it wouldn't run without a million mods)

You have 180 or so wins. That's not someone who is entering for everything and anything. If you won something from me (I dunno if you did) , it's fine, you can stay on my whitelist. Haha! I wish everyone was like you, only entering for stuff they actually want to try and play, even if it takes them a while. Too many +1 collectors.
I'm guilty of having a bit of a backlog too, and also only enter for games I want. And sadly life has thrown me more than a few lemons in recent years, which means that I have less time for gaming. Some of that is down to just being tired a lot, due to said lemons. I still have to play some games that were gifted to me around Christmas time, and I'll get around to it.
There are much more important things in life than a steam backlog, and so long as you have a genuine intent to play those games eventually, that's all most people ask for. =)

It's a completely understandable and sincerely request. I would also like to be able to dedicate more hours per week, but it is often difficult. I've been trying to prioritize playing games won here for a while now (overall mainly whitelist and groups GA).
Thanks for beaing a great contributor to this community, have a nice day!

I'm sure the majority of winners from your giveaways you've created haven't touched their wins either, it's normal lol. Time is limited for a lot of us, so it can be difficult to play all owned games, whether won here or purchased for yourself on Steam. You don't owe anyone an apology, you deserve your wins and many more for how much you've done for the community. Give yourself some slack and a pat on the back, you're one of the best :)

You were in my whitelist, and removed as asked. But considering all the giveaways you have made, I didn't mind, really. It's OK, just winning them is fine.
Edit: I am actually blacklisted. So, uh? If it's OK, I would like to be unblacklisted.

Before I go any further, this is a whitelist de-recruitment. Explanation follows.
There are some really wonderful people on this site, and I feel it’s time I apologize to them.
I’ve a bunch of unplayed wins, and I’m sincerely asking those I’ve won games from but still haven’t played, that you would please remove me from your whitelists. There have been some great games that I should have never won, and at present I really don’t know if I’ll ever play them. I’m struggling to find a lot of time to play for more than a few hours each week. I’m really sorry to the givers, and to those who missed out on winning because I selfishly entered those giveaways.
(In fact, anyone who has whitelisted me, I’d love to be un-whitelisted, at least for the indefinite future.)
I will not be removing anyone from my whitelist, but I may add a few people who comment in this thread. I don’t do many whitelist giveaways though. My rules for whitelists mainly revolve around ratios, and number of games won over your time here at SG. If you think you’re eligible, feel free to ask, though you also run the risk of a blacklist if you’re wildly ineligible.
EDIT: Thank you all for the comments, and for those who removed me from your whitelist, thank you for submitting to my silly request.
I have reorganised my won list, and from now on, I'll only join giveaways from people I don't already owe a debt to :)
At least this way it keeps my guilt to a manageable amount.
I still owe 4 people for the excess of wins/gifts I have from them.
But hope to whittle down my unplayed wins this year, and be in a better headspace around receiving gifts.
Have a giveaway ended
Another Krappy one
I'd love to do more giveaways, but between Fanatical's mediocre/over-priced bundles and HB Choice/Bundles' region restrictions... hmm.
