Just noticed that I'm now level 3, after being level 4 for at least a couple of years.

I know the value of some giveaways can change affecting levels, but I didn't think it could happen after this long.
Weirdly on my stats page, on the level graph, it doesn't show that I was ever level 4? despite having won a few level 4 giveaways.

Not a huge deal of course, just wondering if there's a way to know what game(s) caused my level to drop.

Edit: I've posted my first non-bundle giveaway to hopefully bump my level back up!

The graph only shows you the progress of your CV based on the current evaluations per giveaway.

You could check your giveaways one by one and see when those got reduced or 0 CV.
I have no idea if there is an easier way to do it.

This can also happen in the rare case that a game gets its base Steam price reduced.

This can help in that case: https://steamdb.info/pricechanges/?cc=us

Which is not that rare over a long enough period of time, so it ends up being more of a when than an if.

I don't have the specific answer to why your level dropped, but I do want to say, I love that your response to this is "okay guess I'll make some more giveaways." That is pretty awesome! (Some others who have seen a level drop have been slightly less positive about the situation :D)

better check barter.vg before thinking a game is really a non-bundle. Especially at the bottom of the page, giveaway category of the game.

though people still don't even know when a game get asterisk, why? Because when some region price sale go beyond 95%, they change it to reduced, doesn't need to be a worldwide pricing or being in a 1k copies giveaway.

I more just meant a game that I didn't personally get from a bundle ^^

It's frustrating but unavoidable. CV gets corrected in retrospect so the only guarantee that you have is that this was not the last time this happened.

The only way to avoid losing a level is to always be a bit ahead of your current level. I've been stuck in 7.2 for a good while now, managed to get to 7.22 for a little bit before being brought back to 7.2

You see, maybe, something at https://www.steamgifts.com/bundle-games or https://www.sgtools.info/lastbundled . Useable for each one.

Or https://www.sgtools.info/sent/Madpie24 that show only your stuff.

Yes, this unfortunately happens... I got back from 8 to 7 a couple months ago and was just as surprised as you... If the graph of levels would show retrospectively, that would be amazing btw...

If the full price of a game gets permanently lowered on Steam, you will also lose the difference in CV. Even when the game doesn't get bundled or given away.
