More often than not I just don't care about the BTA tier. The last bundle I beat the average was the Frogware one with Sherlock Holmes. I often find the $1 tier games more interesting than those from the further tiers :D BTW Mobile Bundle? Who cares...
The only bad practice is setting up an additional high tier for one extra game to artificially boost the average.

Indeed. Main bundle and weekly is usually okay. Flash bundle can be repeat, but for example the.. modern retro? Was awesome, one of the best 1$ tiers. Books and comics are great if you're into them and you'll read them. Mobile bundle.... I'm sure somebody is happy about it. I just can't care, usually I rather read a book than start playing on my tablet.

Awww, for a sec I thought Knights of Pen and Paper is in the bundle :( anyways, I don't question the right of being of the mobile bundle, it's just not really my type :) and you're right, Sorcery! is great. Playing it was like reading one of the old adventure books, with the usual formula of " If you want to go left, turn to 246". ( In Hungary there was quite a trend of these books: for example the series of Kaland, Játék, Kockázat (Adventure, Game, Risk) books :)

Charity? Dont come with that...if someone want to do something for charity spend it directly.

That's hardly dropping the ball. It's Pay What You Want for the bottom tier. There is nothing wrong with having higher tiers, and people expecting those higher tiers to still be super-low is gross entitlement. You can currently get every game in the Humble Indie Bundle for less than the regular cost of one of the bottom tier games.

HB12 is so lame to me.
I feel like the best ones nowadays are the HB weekly's usually.
Indie Bundles are actually very competitive now. Before it was just Humble Bundle every once in awhile, Indie Gala every once in awhile, and Indie Royale every once in awhile.
Now HB has 2 or 3 steam bundles a week, IG has 2 or 3 a week, and there's all these other sites with bundles too.
It's weird to say that there are just too many fucking bundles now.

And don't forget the trash-bundles (mostly typical at indiegala). Sorry if I offended somebody. But when a bundle consists of 2 platform games with clunky controls, at least one generic FPS (If there are zombies in it, extra point), an unoriginal tower defense and a match-3 game and something that's on desura/greenlight, but there are at least half a dozen similar AND better games on Steamalready. I love indie games, I love to find gems on greenlight, but the fact, that I'm watching indiegala since ~ half a year and bought only 2 bundles tells enough. ( on the other hand for example bundlestars' latest indie bundle looks great)

Not denying that IG's bundles aren't of the same quality as HB ones, might be a nice way to get some things but other than that, not much) Bundle stars can have some nice things though it's all front loaded (i.e. paying full bundle price for the bunch)

People been saying it for well over a year now, plenty of bundles now, doesn't matter, I still think they get some good games, the EA one and Deep Silver one wasn't to long ago guys. The last main one looked pretty alright also...

cough Monaco cough
But in all seriousneess it's fewer repeats, and that's good to see. Should help pull more people over the fence to BTA in the 2nd week,

I think they're just doing too much. "Big" bundle every 2 weeks, weekly bundle, flash bundle, books bundle, mobile bundle and the store. That makes it really hard for them to put interesting bundles every time. Expanding the site so much wasn't the best idea in my opinion.
But I still think that they're the best. Every Indie Bundle was worth the money and most of games included were really great. I see how people get mad at BTA and solid-tiers, but it's a fair for me.
I think people should stop looking at how it was and look how it is now. And it's still great.

yea bundle were great when they weren't the common thing. the first bundle I heard of was the WB bundle that had Arkham asylum and city, and the Fear trilogy that bundle was awesome. but with all the bundles out now theres not many who have nice games

HiB 12 was actually one of the first times I paid BTA in a long time. Actually gave em the $10 because I wanted Prison Architect as well :)

Mobile games being crap is nothing new and it was foolish to expect that much.
Well the main thing can have a nice mix, though the flash ones vary, the weekly are a decent mix. Thing is as time passes people get more and more of the interesting games leaving only spares and unwanted in future ones.

I find the bundles have always been hit and miss - really depends on how interested I am in the games that are in it at the time they're around.
Current HIB is meh to me, although I might get the 1st tier because Gunpoint & Steamworld Dig have good word of mouth.
Indie 11 was better because at the time it came around I had a strong appetite for platformers. If the same was launched now, I'd probably skip it though.
4, 5, 8 & 9 were probably the best, because they had that "something for everyone" grab-bag thing going on. (I missed out on 5 though)

Soda Drinker Pro.... wtf is that. Probably some guy that wants a slice out of the "so bad its good" trend...
And Humble bundle is still the best imo. Most of their games are quality games... unlike many other bundle sites who pretty much sell you 90% crap. And even a fixed $8 tier would make it a very good deal and much cheaper than a steam sale for example, they also have a option that allows you to not go for all games but go for a lower tier.. which still includes good games! Humble bundle STILL offers the best 1 dollar tier bundles.

Just use BundleStars or something if it's upsetting you so much.

Maybe people spend to much time hoarding games instead of playing? I will be glad if the bundle fever stops a bit...
They keep doing their job of making games more accesible, games than usually are worth of being played (I just don't care about mobile). What's the matter if there is a few repeats and they try to raise the BTA, it doesn't hurt the devs, the charities or the gaming community. If you think it's worth it of a purchase, then where is the big deal on open your wallet a bit more?
Meanwhile, there is tons of sites with bundles full of crap (never bought a bundle outside HB, except 3-4 on BundleStars and 1 on IndieGala). And I don't hear people constantly ranting against them. HB owes you nothing...

Groupees is the best bundle site on the web now, then Flying Bundle, Bundle Bandits and Blink Bundle after that.
And Horrible Bungle does owe us something, they owe us better policies. And mainly the only thing good about Bunglestars is their exemplary customer service. IndieGala has deplorable customer service, if they stopped doing their happy hours they'd lose 95% of their customers.

Groupees better? Brb lmao
I've had no issue with HB customer service nor with its general variety of games.

People easily get used to good things and demand more, right? But I think HB is still a very good deal, we just compare bundles with bundles now, not bundles with stores.
And there's nothing wrong with repeats. Since HB keeps getting more and more popular ("mainstream", dare I say) there are still people who don't have, I don't know, Fez or Bastion or other bundle classics and may be happy to get them.

Color Zen is great. Sorcery is f*cking fantastic (albeit short). Kingdom Rush Frontiers is great. Horn is great. Swordigo is actually quite fun if you have a pad. The Tiny Bang Story I haven't tried yet due to weird resolution issues, but the game is considered pretty good on PC at least. Heroes of Loot is pretty good for what it is. Alpha Wave seems interesting but I haven't tried it yet.
You're judging a bundle from ONE BONUS game. I really don't feel sorry for you. I think HB has never been as good as it is at the moment. Sure, "the magic" isn't there anymore, but the games are according to me way better. Also, a way to listen to all your purchased soundtracks while reading cheap ebooks/comics on the go is freaking awesome.

OK for me Humble Bundle has been the reference when it comes to bundle sites.. but the more it goes the more it stinks..
They still make nice bundles but the way they establish the BTA prices is kinda screwy. The bonus games are rarely great addons to the bundles anymore, mostly just repeats, even though you need to BTA to get them and combine that with a 7$+ BTA price. OK that's mostly just ranting but.. today I saw the bonuses for the latest Humble Mobile Bundle 7 .. WTF is that Soda Drinker Pro.. we're dealing with crapware now.. it's not even a game.. Seriously ? The developer made this game in one day and is now porting that crap to XBox one.. ok.. I'm speechless now.
Edit .. People should understand that I'm making a caricature of the whole situation. In all honesty I do think a lot of people are acting like spoiled brats now with how they react to the whole bundle scene. We're getting lots of games for ridiculous prices and the market can't keep up with that long term. I'm really wondering how new developers can make a living in those conditions.
