It's not enough to just ask for invite to private group. They have requirements, you know
-xxx value of gifted games etc etc
Comment has been collapsed.
also, you registered a week ago, entered 50 giveaways and made only 2 comments
also this: "- 1 Month old account on S.Gifts.
Current Value of Gifts sent must be at least $100.
These games do not qualify as a valid value to join the group (This includes account value and value of Gifts sent).
Dark Messiah (GPU Promo/Exploit)
DiRT3 (GPU Promo)
Duke Nukem Forever: Hail to the Icons Parody Pack (FAC)
Dungeon Siege 3 (GPU Promo)
Frozenbyte Collection/Bundles
HalfLife Deathmatch (GPU Promo)
Humble Indie Bundles, or any games that those bundles include
Mafia 2 (GPU Promo)
Orcs Must Die (IGN Prime)
Portal
*Sanctum + DLCs (IGN Prime/Indie Royale Bundles)
*Some of these games are from Graphic Cards promos and as such it not tolerated.
If you only have private giveaways (or most of the value is on them) you'll have to provide a link to some of them so we can check if everything is in order.
Users that don't appear from time to time in chat get kicked.
Always thank the members in the Gift page when joining their Gift.
Try to be active on Chat, joining Gifts and never being on Chat is not tolerated.
People that only leech get kicked, people will have a month before they get kicked if they don't gift something. There's no need to make group gifts only and Gifts can be public.
No Begging/Trading/Rude Behaviour.
The account value must be over $200
No VAC ban (while some graphic mods can cause this, ask Steam Support to see if they can do something about it).
People that are not in the group and enter a Gift (such as people that get kicked) and win, the win will be null and we be rerolled."

"I'll only give stuff after I get comfortable in the group"
That's stupid. You get in private group and contribute nothing while others wait for you to get comfortable?
You won't get into any. Not like that.

private groups are the cancer. they always degenerate into a drama filled circlejerk.

Leechers contribute nothing to the community though other than the loss of potential giveaway 'wins' to people who actually give back to the community. I understand where you're coming from with this 'private group' stuff, but in all honesty, it feels like them groups are there to be a preventative measure for leechers.

I think you've just had bad experience with private groups, or you've never been in one and are just projecting misinformed stereotypes on them. I personally like the Ultra-Luxe. It's a great group devoted to a fantastic cause.

Private Groups generally want people to contribute to the community, you haven't gifted anything and you've already displayed you're not even willing to thank people that are giving away games for free.
It's not terribly encouraging.
And the I don't trust the system excuse isn't a great one when you can check any of the 10,000+ giveaways and see that people have received the games they've won and been happily playing them since the site launched.

+1 on Raiden
If you could just raise your cap up to minimum of $75 of gifted games, i would seriously consider to invite you. You seem like a good guy

I'll probably hit the $75 cap soon, but thanks. Much appreciated :)

Moral of the story, YOU CANT TRUST THE SYSTEM!

No but really, I am new also, I would never expect to be invited to a private group until I start gifting to people.

Yup, that's 100% logic.
Why would a community of gifters randomly invite a guy who hasn't give anything away?

A lot of us (over half of the total members) were just kicked from that "Giveaway Limited" group that was advertised on here a while ago. I joined and completely forgot about the "rules" of giving one game away within three days. People were also kicked for giving away items that they might have gotten for free, like the Duke Nukem DLC, even though not everyone got one and they could have sold it. Regardless, I do agree with what someone posted above: private groups that do giveaways end in unnecessary drama. And while you may have an increased chance of winning due to a lower amount of entries, you still have to spend money to give something away, and it's still not a guaranteed payout.
My advice is to just enter normal contests like everyone else and not worry about those groups with expenditures as a stipulation.

I will definitely agree with this. If you are going to enter a private group, then I would highly advise against joining one that requires members to give a certain amount of games one they have joined.

Rules are Rules IMO.
The 3 day thing is your fault. You agreed to do it and they told you, you had to when you started.
However the DN DLC I kinda agree with. However it isn't a game and they did most likely get for free.

I may not like groups that force you to submit giveaways, but if a person does choose to join one the they should definitely follow the rules and submit the required amount or prepare to be kicked.

Oh, I really don't want to make that impression, cause I didn't kicked the guy who made a Duke Nukem DLC, I just removed the ones who did not made any giveaway since they entered and the ones who made giveaways aggainst steamgifts rules (like spacechem). =)

If only I had a credit card. I will repay the community some day! Anyways, thanks until then guys.

Why is it that every other person is like "ooh I don't have a credit card, I can't buy stuff online"?
News flash: Paypal works with debit cards WHICH ARE FREE (at least when you're in school/college) and so do other payment services like Click&Buy.

Agreed and if everything else fails, there is always the way of asking friends or relatives who have a credit card to transfer some money onto your Steam wallet and give them cash in return.
It's one thing to say you can't afford to give sth away at the moment, but not having a credit card is definitely not a valid excuse.

I don't have a debit card because my parental people will not allow me to have one. so News Flash, I can't do anything about it. I also have no money that is 'mine' at the moment, so I can't do anything about this. But, in future, I will give things away. I just don't have the ability to at this time. I'm sorry that things are always more complicated than they should be, or would be in a perfect world.

The only way I can see this happening is if you're 'underage'. I understand when I was a bit younger that I had no disposable income / allowance, or any other means like that.. but I still had friends and family members willing to give me money if I needed it. It's not that people 'can't' get money on their Steam accounts, it's that they 'won't' or don't know how, really.
Apologies for your situation though if you truly have no way in the world of getting some funds though! :)

Well, that's it. :C I am underage. Not by much, but I am. And my parents won't allow me to get a job either, because they want me focusing on my studies, so I can get a full scholarship somewhere. It's annoying, but for the time being, it's what I'm limited to. But thanks for understanding. I really do have full intentions of giving back, even if I never win anything. I really like the idea, and I want to support it. :)

1.Create private group
and voila, you're in the private group

I, for instance, never had sex to join. Is that how people now get into Steam groups? Carnal bribery? You should be ashamed of yourselves!
Comment has been collapsed.
Well... I guess if you ask really nicely then possibly maybe you could convince me to let you in on the more active one I got going but... if you have over 100 steam games and haven't played half of them then I think you need to go back and play those games first

Since i have the courage to ask, i will. I was wondering if i could be invited to a group of that kind ? im rather lonely :( (forever alone) and those public giveaways are just brutal and i have no chance to compete with people there so im wondering if i could be invited to a group of people who giveaway games to nice people, and when im in a friendly and a comfortable group il start giving away stuff, since i havent won anything i dont really trust the system. If you read my wall of text - thank you, if you going to invite me to a group after this - bless you!.
TL;DR post are welcome! :))
