"Look behind you! A three-headed monkey!"

Hello everybody!
First of all I want to thank you all for this marvellous community, it's only two months I'm here and I already feel like home.
In the last days I've been thinking a lot about creating a train with a specific theme: the graphic adventures. I'm a longstanding graphic adventure's enthusiast and I simply love the good old point-and-click games... I've started with the Lucas Arts games (Monkey Island and Loom are definitely my favourites) a lot of years ago and since then I played almost every game present in this train (with only one big exception, but you'll know why reading the last game's description).
A big thank you to LostSoulVL that explained me step-by-step how to create a train: you had a ton of patience, mate! I really appreciated your help.
Here and there you'll find some QTE's games: they're not properly graphic adventures but I enjoyed a lot of them too (especially the Telltale games).
Last but not least: can you name in the comments your favourite graphic adventures? Maybe I could use some of your suggestions and add some new games to my wishlist.
Are you ready for this long train? It's the first one I created, so I hope I haven't made any mess. It's for level 3+ (except for the last three games that are lvl 4+) and it's protected with Sgtools. It will last one week.

ENJOY THE RIDE!

Thanks to Nudiustertian we have an extra cart for this train!

I guess my suggestions won't be useful to you at all because I apparently come from the same LucasArts background :)

If I had to choose my four favorite adventures, they would be Monkey Island 1 and 2, Full Throttle, and Day of the Tentacle. If I had to choose less than four, I wouldn't be able to!

More recently, I had a lot of fun with Back to the Future: The Game.

I knew and played all the old LucasArts games, but I haven't tried Telltale's Back to the Future. I added it to my wishlist, thanks for the tip!

Thanks a lot for the great train!

My favourite adventure probably is Toonstruck. I played it on CD back in the day but have not bought it on Steam yet because I find 10 Euros a bit much for a game which is 20 or so years old.

That's a great set of games.

My favorite adventure game is The Longest Journey. I loved the characters, the world, and the story. I also really liked Gemini Rue.

Such a pretty traaain. Thanks <3. As for my favourite adventure game, I'm extremely partial to The Book of Unwritten Tales 2. I would recommend both 1 and 2, if you haven't played them yet.

I have the first chapter in my library (but I still have to play it) and I'm waiting for the price of the second chapter to drop. Now it's on offer on the Bundlestars summer sale and maybe I can give some thought to it... Thanks for the tip!

Yw, hope you enjoy it. There's no real need to wait though! The stories are stand-alone so I would give 1 a try to see if the humour clicks with you, before buying the second game.

  5. Maniac Mansion: Day of the Tentacle
  6. Gabriel Knight: Sins of the Fathers
  7. The Longest Journey
  8. Heavy Rain
  9. To The Moon
  10. Botanicula

Honorable Mentions:
Indigo Prophecy

Thanks for what for me personally might be the best train ever created. :)
As for my favourite games, they would be the classics, like the first two Monkey Islands, Indy and the Last Crusade, The Fate of Atlantis, generally Lucasarts stuff. :)
I have yet to play the early Sierra adventures, but will do so since they are already purchased and in my library. :)

As for newer games, I really enjoyed The Silent Age. It's a bit simpler than full blown point-and-clicks, and also on the easier side, but I liked the setting. and the story. The main character also had a certain charm to him. :)

I've read in one of your comments that you haven't played Gabriel Knight games, you should play all 3, they're different (1st: 2D, 2nd: FMV, 3rd: 3D) but all of them are awesome:

http://store.steampowered.com/app/495700/Gabriel_Knight_Sins_of_the_Father/
http://store.steampowered.com/app/262000/Gabriel_Knight_Sins_of_the_Fathers_20th_Anniversary_Edition/ (remastered, I only played the original)

http://store.steampowered.com/app/497360/Gabriel_Knight_3_Blood_of_the_Sacred_Blood_of_the_Damned/

Also, I'd recommend you these two:

Toonstruck is great too (It was recommended by another member in this thread)

And of course, all Lucasarts adventures, but probably you've played them all.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I'll surely give the Gabriel Knight saga a try... And btw, I didn't know I Have no mouth and I must scream, so I added to my wishlist!

I'm always glad to help people who appreciate this genre. I forgot this one: "Discworld Noir", but it's not available on Steam.

Probably I'm forgetting several good ones, I've played tens of them.

Based on this train, I'd strongly recommend any of the Wadjet Eye Games - I'm slowly working my way through them, but have already enjoyed the Blackwell series, and Primordia (and of course Beneath A Steel Sky, if you haven't played that classic SCUMM game - although you can't get it on Steam, just GoG - but at least it's free!).

I still have to try Primordia and Technobabylon (and part of the Blackwell series). Thanks for the suggestions!
