I don't get it.
Wether it ends up in a disaster or not depends on you and the market. How could we possibly answer your question ?
This being said from personal experience having a biz/ being a manager is an interesting/fun job that is also stressful.

Okay, Let me try and explain it a tad better.
The Internet creates a Company, Funds the Company, and, Controls the Company.

I got xp both in having my own company and in being a manager, so being successful or not depends on a thousand things, most of all you and the market. If your company is about selling teddy bears, the market for them i good, and you know your job, you will most probably be allright ( gotta count the costs, transport, quality of your employees, concurence, advertisement... ), whatever the company.
You can sell fridges in antarctica if you are good.
If you don't know if you are good enough, you can always have fun trying but avoid investing all the money you have.
And there is no such thing as the internet funds a company, its people behind their screens, in which case personaly there is no way i would associate with people i don't know as it leads to issues ( investors taking back their money at a critical time because they need it being a classic ).
If its a company made by noobs and controlled by noobs i personnaly would avoid it.
This being said if your are basicaly having a manager job with a pay that's always a job with a pay. Just be sure that you get that pay, and ask yourself if your time couldn't be used better.

that would totally end in a disaster.
a big company's manager has a lot to lose - the same can't be said about the trolls that roam the internet.
and I don't really know of a big company that's run by a base-democracy, you've normally got the workers and some manager layers, that get thinner the higher you go up; a pyramid structure.

Not own but make the decisions, but you have to create profit, if not you will get fired and/or company will go bankrupt.
Even if you don't have a wage (company not needing to pay you) you can be fired. And the goal of "your game" is to keep making decisions.

It depends. If the ones who make the decisions are expert in the business, then it should be allright, if not, well, ill be mixed, some would try to become rich with the first sale, some would sell their work for pennies and some others will report losses where you cant lose.
So, if you are very wealthy and want to try the experiment, go ahead, else, dont risk too much money on it.

Dear SteamGifts,
Once again this may not be about Games.. or, I guess it can be in some way.
If you had the opportunity to not own a business but be able to make decisions(sell this, don't sell that, move here, don't move here, sale here, sale there, sales everywhere,funding,marketing,etc..) about one(almost like a community owned business) Would you?
Or, would it end up in disaster(or profit, depending on who you talk too) like TPP(Twitch Plays Pokemon)?
I was just thinking on this today.. because I may try this as a experiment.
