Yeah, so I got scammed for Red Faction. An impostor offered me Dishonored key for 2 games, and I got scammed for RF:G. Good news is that I payed 1€ for the game I lost. 1€ for a lesson I won't forget is OK, but it feels bad. Anyone wants to tell experiences?

P.D. I believe in Karma, and this happens the day I my account turns 1 year old. I've also gift 4 games in the past week on Steamgifts. Therefore, KARMA HATES MEEEE xD

I OFFERED TWO GAMES FOR DISHONORED, but I only showed one.

So many people getting scammed lately. Are you people not taking precautions? Checking steamtrades feedback? Steamrep? Don't trade or don't go first if you have any doubts.

You ask for a link to their steamtrades profile, click on the profile link to their steam account, and make sure that's the one you're talking to.

Dishonored for Red-Faction? Already room for error there, but yeah that sucks.

2 Games for Dishonored more or less the key Price.

Doesn't really matter... Red Faction has been on sale countless times, Dishonored is brand new. It should've been pretty obvious that he was scamming you (or that the key is from elsewhere).

If you have the benefit of doubt, make them go first. If they disagree then w/e.

That's why you ask for their key first.

or you give them a fake key and tell em to post theirs at the same time.

When a guy who has one game in his inventory and is offering you dishonored, something might be up. If the offer is too good to be true, it probably is.

I'm so pissed right now I got scammed the second time!!! This guy seemed trusted too. He had rep on his steamprofile but he doesn't have a steamtrades. I can't believe I fell in the trap again. This guy named Ompa Lompa had a bunch of rep on his profile and I was about to leave because he looked like a scammer but then one of his rep on his profile had CaptainMorti, this guy other here http://www.steamtrades.com/user/CaptainMorti/page/2 a rep from captain morti. It was legit too. The legit captainmorti so I went on with the trade and he just say f u and left after I gave him the key -_- His account was really legit though. He had a bunch of games on it, 3 pages or rep on his profile, hours of play time. For some reason I can't search him up. How can I find his player ID on the steam. I still have his account open but he blocked me. I see some of his info though. Chat is still open with all his messages too.

dammit i just looked at his name and it said also played as varriiczz and I found him on steamtrades http://www.steamtrades.com/user/varriiczz I hate myself

found his account over here http://steamcommunity.com/id/varriiczz/ it's private now.

he changed his name to Chubby Fuck Face

"He had rep on his steamprofile"

I can't believe how people can be easily cheated by this. You have your own profile, you know you can delete any comments, you know that you can ask friends for comments and then you call them "reputation".

PS report him on Steam. And this is his permanent link to profile: http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198034003589
Btw. he is already marked as scammer on SteamTrades and SteamRep: http://steamrep.com/profiles/76561198034003589

I know, I can't believe how stupid I was. Idk why I don't think when I'm trading. But he had a rep from this CaptainMorti guy and that was very convincing for me.

Middleman isn't just someone that's getting a dick up his ass while fucking someone else, you know.
Also, karma is not capable of feelings, as far as I know.

I still don't get the sense of a middleman for a key-trade, unless the middleman already has the game and so can check the key. But afaik there's always a small chance the key is activating because of different versions. (Had this problem on King Arthur - Retail key activated although game was already owned). It's just as useless as the guys which offer you to give you the key with a missing letter in my opinion X_x
