Make it so the person offering the game can make it so 100, 200, 300 etc can enter or have it unlimited as it is right now, leaving the choice up to them. Also to balance this, less points are created for this type of draw based on the number of people allowed in, so if its 100 people its 20% of the usual, so for a game worth $50 normally giving out 5 points will give out 1 point

again its a suggestion, I dunno if it will work but I just thought I would throw it out there

Giveaways with 1400+ entries kinda make it difficult to win.

On the contrary, Giveaways with 1400+ entries make it difficult for you or I to win. But someone is absolutely going to win, no matter how many people are in it.

I find this suggestion very interesting, in a good way.

Giving an option for the gifter to decide is a nice idea. Sadly the people who can implement this never state their opinions about these, so we never know if they even read it.

If he does implement it, there could be an announcement page before you you see giveaways.

You could just limit the duration of the giveaway, I don't see the point of displaying it once it's full anyway. Though in either case, you're just encouraging bots which is bad for the site.

Sounds to me like this would fall under the "Gifter-created rules" thing, to which the common answer is "make the giveaway private, problem solved." =/

I'm actually against this idea and this is my opinion as to why...

The problem with this, is that it makes giveaways even less accessible at the user level. If you think you have troubles winning now wait til you can barely load the site, and when you finally do find giveaways that you want, they're already full cause the 9,999 other people are constantly reloading the website at the speed of OH DEAR GOD WHY?! This idea would actually typically lower your chances to win a lot of the time, simply because no matter how fast you think you can load the giveaways, there are those other 10,000 people who would probably load it just as fast if not faster.

Your chances of winning get lower with the more entries, but, your chances of winning are less than 0% if you can't even enter. So you should play your chances instead of trying to snuff out competition and in so doing snuffing yourself out.

when there will be lots of people, there would be much more giveaways, so the chances to win something won't go any lower, because you will be able to enter more giveaways, while there will be more entries.
there is no real reason to limit entries.

Although it would increase one's chances of actually winning a draw, this would eliminate some users from applying if they can't quickly enter the giveaway (work hours, vacation...), that's why I would be against it. This idea would only benefit the kids which are all-day long on their computers, aren't the 1-hour long open giveaways punishment enough for working-class people?
