Star Citizen is again running a free fly event for people to check out the game for free for a limited time. The event ends on August 27th, so if you have any interest, give it a try now.

Just wanted to add in, if you're new to trying out the game and have questions, feel free to ask. I'm not the most knowledgeable player, there is still stuff I haven't done, but I'll help however I can.

Unfortunately, I heard around 2018 that this game has no plans to support multiple languages.
I think it looks interesting, but I doubt I'll ever play it.
It seems that language support is only guaranteed for 2-byte characters.
Have those situations improved?

And you'll need a good computer for humanity to play this game.
I didn't have one.(ﾉΘ`)

Unfortunately I don't have a clue on how well language support is atm, or the extent to which they intend, but I do know some languages are supported right now based on things I've seen in patch notes.

As for performance, yah, it can get rough without a high end PC at times.

Kappa may be referring to hiragana, katakana, and kanji support (but I could be wrong). :)

Finished? Probably not for awhile still, 2 years+ no doubt. It still needs optimization, bug fixes and has us stuck in a single solar system, but... It's looking like things are going to start flooding in fairly decent over the next year so long as their server meshing and icache works out.

Really, it's still very much an early access purchase. I play it on occasion, but it's not something I could play everyday without getting sick of it in it's current state.
