Fake giveaways

I know it might not be the greatest idea, but after entering 700+ giveaways winning is exciting and if you dont get your prize it sucks

so, if you win a giveaway thats fake, you should get another one from someone else or from another giveaway?

1. It can be easily abused
2. It isnt fair if you win a fake giveaway and then auto win a different one

...Well, what happens to the people who entered that other giveaway that you'd just auto-won? They don't falsely feel they had a chance -before- they were stripped from the giveaway without notice or permission?
Also, exploit: Make your own private, fake giveaway. Win it. Auto-win a different, real giveaway. Problem?

So who's buying the not fake copy?

ATTENTION: Or, if someone puts up a giveaway they should have the option of making it, for people who didn't get that game, and they should have. They could make some anti-abusing system

Wouldn't that make everyone start submitting fake giveaways?

The Ship is virtually a free game to giveaway, doubt they are fake.

Basically if anyone has over 100 games, it is an auto believe.
500+ games it is real regardless what anyone says. (probably)

Under 20 games basically ignore it.

I don't think that idea's a good idea. Couldn't one person just abuse it by making a ton of fake giveaways?

Another idea from the group of total BS ones.

No refunding will ever gonna happen. Deal with it. Forcing the legit giveaway creator to give his game to the winner of a fake giveaway is like ordering him to pay money for the lier. You might not mind, most of the people would mind big time.

There are obvious fake giveaways - if you enter those, win it and at the end get nothing, it's your fault. Nobody's paying for that.
Some giveaways are fake but you can't tell for sure (I happen to win one of them recently). All you can do is report the faker and move on with your life.

hey, so if I understand it right - you get free points and free chance to get some games from others for free and you complain if the bad luck might get you once and you win a fake giveaway even though you never contributed anything to the community?

I might just be a cheapass, but I only enter giveaways from people who seem legit or have previous, positive feedback. Sometimes it's quite obvious and easy to spot the fake ones.

there will always exist fakes no matter what, there are lots of idiots that will find another ways to fake.

In most cases if you enter a fake giveaway, that's your own fault. I know there are some exceptions, but the majority of these fake giveaways are so obvious, still a lot of people enter them.

I think Steam inventory/ CD key check is great.

stop whining their will be fakers just don't enter anything that looks suspicious people that gift expensive or relatively new games without having it in their own library...

How about if you're win a fake giveaway a custom steamgifts theme activates on the site? It shall be filled with kittens and ponies and those cute steam mascot things looking all sad and sympathetic. :D Then you'll feel happy again and all will be well.

2. gets game
3. marks as not recieved
4. gets another game....

I don't care if I receive the game or not, I WILL BE HAPPY THAT I WAS CHOSEN RANDOMLY OUT OF 1-3K PEOPLE. That's luck.

Or they should be forced to buy it other wise they get banned from steam trading or something lol.

that's not possible, you may fake "not received" the game, and win another one...
