"Indie" is not a genre, it just means the developers are independent, aka they're not funded by a publisher.

I don't know... I think I like them all...
It just depends on the game self. Only racing games can go to the bottom of my list, don't like it that much, some are okay.

I can't decide, I love good RPGs and strategies and adventures :D Depends on my mood. When I want to be another person I play RPG and create life stories of my game character in my head (SWKOTOR is the best). Sometimes I have this "brain need" so I play strategy (especially Settlers III) and The night of the rabbit is my current choice for adventure :)

P.S: I don't get why there are both, rts and strategy in the poll , isn't rts subgenre of strategy?

At the moment my answer would be puzzle. That's almost exclusively what I've been playing for weeks.

I can't choose one.

I spend the most time playing RPGs--such as Pillars of Eternity or TES titles--and Grand Strategy--such as Crusader Kings 2 and EU4.

RPG and turn based strategy/4x.
Favorite games: a lot... Fallout and Elder scrolls series for RPG ( also old eye of The beholder series) and civilization series/ space empires series for 4x/strategy

Are roguelikes/lites considered rpgs or "indie" in this context.

RPG by far, though I tend to enjoy a little of everything. Except sports.

I love third person/first person puzzlers (Quantum Conundrum, Magrunner, Portal, QUBE, InFlux, etc.), tower defense games especially ones with first person/third person aspect (Orcs Must Die, Sanctum, Dungeon Defenders, Deathtrap).

I'd list those two as my favorite (so puzzle and tower defense falls under strategy), with another 20 subgenres trailing right behind :p

Sniff. Strategy is at the bottom.

I like puzzle games and turn-based strategy.

Favorite puzzle games: Hexcells, Blockwick 2, and any match 3.

Favorite turn-based strategy: Heroes of Might and Magic 2, 3, 4, and Master of Orion 2.
