Whining because of Gauntlet giveaway...

I bought a Gauntlet 4-pack so I could giveaway the other 3 copies as part of Soccertron's Greenlight promotion but after purchasing it I found that "This is a restricted gift which can only be redeemed in certain countries." This is unfair, as the pack was like "get one for you and gift the other 3 copies!" with no warning on the restriction.

I sent a support ticket to Steam a week ago so I could at least know which are those countries, but got no response so far, only the "we are investigating" standard response.

Sorry guys :(

For some reason Gauntlet (both the base game and copies from 4-pack) have AllowCrossRegionTradingAndGifting set to no. This is a deliberate choice made by the publisher of the game. It's a flag that's not shown in the Store at all, which sucks if you want to do things like you tried.
If you want to see that flag and others like it, you need to dig around in steamdb. Takes a little getting used to, but once you grasp the basics it's easy. Here's the link for the Gauntlet gift entry.

As for which countries will work with your gift:

Since you're in Spain all Euro Tier 2 countries should definitely work. I don't know if it works with Euro Tier 1 countries as well - if you have somebody you trust in one of them you can test that.

Yep, I started investigating the region restrictions after this issue and learn about steamdb. Now I check it before making any purchase... I'll try to send the gift to a Tier 1 pal, but I won't be able to use it here anyway.
