I really want to join the Left 4 Dead giveaways. I do not own the game and created my account here after the free weekend (I think). Still, re-syncing my account with Steam does not resolve my problem of not being able to enter giveaways of this game.

Can an admin help me with this issue please? Thank You!

You can wait, or buy the game. Its a problem on Steams end, with it listed as owned in your account. Until Steam removes it from your recently played list, nothing SG can do.

It doesn't really matter when you created your account here. SG gets your game list from Steam afresh everytime. If you played during the free period, it may take 2 weeks for Steam to drop the game from that list.

It must disappear from your recently played list (2 weeks).

This is a known issue with free weekends and guest passes. All that can be done is for the user to remove any game content they may have on their computer and resync their SteamGifts account. It can take up to two weeks for Steam to update the user's library to reflect they do not own the game, however. Sadly, this is a problem on Steam's end and we can't change it.

To prevent this happening in the future, manually sync your account mid-week, like Tuesday or Wednesday. This will reset the 7-day sync to work on the day of the week you last synced, so it won't sync on the weekend unless you do it manually.

Thank you for all the responses.

I will wait for 2 weeks and then try again. The reason, why I want to be gifted rather than to buy the game is that in my region I can only get the low violence version, although I'm already 25 years old...

Ah. Fair enough, I know friends in Aus with the same problem. One alternative is to get into trading, just stick to inventory items, since that is all you will find L4D2 as. Lowest risk when trading.

happened to me too...never touched those "free-weekend" games.

it's steam's fault, those games always appear in your account as you would actually own the game.
