By that I mean the link you get in your inbox after redeeming a gift link. I suppose it should be ok, but I prefer to be sure before I go buy some bundle leftovers

http://www.steamgifts.com/giveaway/zltlx/the-inner-world

EDIT : I tried to create a giveaway just now with one of these links but I can't, I get this message : Only Steam redeemable keys, or gift links from Steam or Humble Bundle are allowed.

How do I do ? Do I select gift and send it by mail after the giveaway ends ?

It's fine. I've done it once or twice. I would normally just create a gift link, and copy that link, but it does work the other way too.

Did you set it as a gift rather than a key when creating the giveaway, and sent it by mail after it ended ? I tried to create a giveaway with one of these but I got this message : Only Steam redeemable keys, or gift links from Steam or Humble Bundle are allowed.

Keys refer to anything that is not a Steam gift through Steam, and Humble Bundle Keys should be able to be given. You can always access the link page and create another gift link from the key if you need to. A "gift" is only a Steam gift you can find in your inventory after purchasing or selecting the gift option while purchasing a game.

Actually, gift is meant to be used for anything that's not a single Steam key. (Although the box will also accept Humble links containing ?gift= and link from emailed Steam gifts) If you're planning on giving the key to the winner in person, to give any other kind of link, to give a pack that comes as multiple Steam keys, then the Gift option should be used.

Thanks for this clear answer. Since the Humble links I'm talking about here do not contain ?gift=, I can't put them in the key box and have to use the gift option then

You can't create another gift link for a game that was gifted to you. Are you sure you understood correctly what I'm saying ? To be clear, I'm talking about making giveaways with link that looks like this one

I was incorrect, but yes, you can distribute the link and other people can redeem it I believe. (for example, https://www.humblebundle.com/downloads?key=2MrPx7xaTdG3GHK). Feel free to try with that one, but add an a on the end of the link or it won't work. (bot protection).

Yes I know for sure that the links can still be redeem by someone else, I just wanted to know if for any reason it would not be ok to use them for giveaways ^^ Thanks for this link, I already have this, you can remove it or leave it for a ninja, as you prefer

I'll leave it. I don't mind.

Don't know how HB works but I just redeem the keys and then put 'em here so I'll only have to hit "send" after a winner is chosen. Easy peasy.

Yes, that's the one. The new SG takes those gift links, just like it will keys. As long as the link is a good one (game hasn't been redeemed), then you're good to go~!

No, I don't mean that. I know you can use this page for giveaways, I was talking about the page that you get in your mail box when you use this page

Yes and this way you can also tell who redeemed it.

No necessarily, I think you can claim this page to your Humble account after you redeem the game so no one else can see it

I don't think you can, look at this one for example, it's taken from the Orphan keys thread.

Yeah, by default you can still see who redeemed it, but that person normally has the option to claim the page after redeeming. I'm pretty sure I've done it before, I'll check this with the next bundle I buy.

Without any issues as long as other party gets "direct link" to unused claim page :)

Perhaps you must make the game link into a gift link, then copy that gift link for the giveaway.
That, or sending the link through Steam (by adding the winner and pasting it into the chat), or alternatively by email. It isn't really important how the winner gets their game, as long as they get it.

I usually select "Gift" when creating a giveaway, then I just add the winner and send the link through the chat. :)

I can't make it a gift link, it's a direct link to redeem the game (a link like this one). So yeah I guess I'll just send it by mail or Steam chat

Indeed, sending the link through Steam or by email seems to be the best solution.

why not just redeem and send the key? the whole gifting thing is pointless now

games from old bundles don't show you the key, they activate directly from the page

they cant... steam shut down their auto activate system i thought. so how can it still work? thats why bundle sites had to go back to giving steam keys

I guess they did not shut down the system completely, and they're simply not allowed to use it anymore. That would explain why it still works for the older bundles.
