never it's old for play games, why you are old?? because the more "popular" it's games = kids???
no thx in arround 40-50 years you are going to die, so while you live do all you want to do and forget all stereotips, worse for them if they think that way, they are going to lose a lot of "pleasure" for don't do things for that stereotips.

mmm... new alternative sollution: stop gaming and take a new bizarre hobby. Something extremely dangerous or ridiculous. Maybe dressing up as a unicorn in public? Tell her you need to do something with your creativity now you're not gaming anymore.

40-50 here. Played Pong as a kid, because it was on display in warehouses. :D
And then came Space Invaders, Joust, Pac-Man, Bagman, Dig-Dug, Burgertime and all the others... :)

Selfish? What about co-op, multiplayer, MMO(RPG)s? And wouldn't be reading for yourself be selfish, too?
Or do you just mean the analogy? Well, I wouldn't interprete it as "do what ya like, stop caring for others", but as "enjoy it as long as you can and don't be too serious about it". Games are full of neccessary duries, providing help, friend/relationships, tutoring, just like life.
