As you know you can use filters on the giveaways (open, new, coming soom, closed).
So how about Available only, it will cancel:

  1. Games already owned - when you have a lot of games, you see a lot of giveaways of games you already own, so you cant join them.
  2. Missing base game DLC's - If I dont own the original game so there is no reason for me to join, not that I can even do that.
  3. Contributor - Giveaways that you cant join because you hav'nt contributed enough...

There are a lot of features about the add-on that I don't like, and I think others may agree. Why can't we have more filters as an official update to the site?

Because the add-on has everything that you could need.

What don't you like about it anyway?

I don't like the endless scrolling, and if I turn that off the filters stop working properly. There was some other stuff, but I've long disabled the add-on so I don't remember it anymore.

You can turn off pretty much every feature the addon introduces individually. So it should be possible to only use the filter options.
EDIT: I wondered why the addon isn't integrated into the site myself, though.

Exactly, I don't see why anyone has a problem with the add-on.

The addon just hides css elements after they load on your screen, it doesn't actually do any background work. For that to happen (so for it to be implemented into the site itself), the dev would almost certainly have to rewrite the entire framework.

Ah, I tried to make a suggestion here too, sadly people would rather flame than listen. I would just ignore them if I were you. :)

How do you set filters while browsing giveaways? I've read the FAQ and don't recall an mention of filtering, and much less, how to do it.

I thought RexMan85 implied filters without the add-on. I'm not too keen of them right now, since my mobo died I've been forced to use a crappy PC and when I installed some add-ons this s*** slowed to a crawl.

Look to the upper right, under the search, there is a tab.

You guys, he's asking for filters to be implemented in the main site. I get that most of you use the enhancement addon; I do too, but there are plenty of setups that don't play well with large numbers of addons or cross-site scripting, both of which the enhancement addon can involve (and in the case of the latter, always does).

Also, the enhancement addon doesn't currently filter out DLCs you don't have the base game for, so he's still suggesting something new.

The enhancement does, you just need to click ignore on the DLCs.

The site itself doesn't have very good support for filtering DLCs you own, which may be a problem with Steam rather than a problem with Steamgifts.

I've won giveaways for DLCs I didn't know I owned.

Sounds like a nice idea. I used the add-on for a little while, but since I browse from multiple PC's and also mobile I feel that making this a core feature will be better.

I disagree with your number three. While annoying, I think it shows what they -could- be getting, if only they contributed. So it provides incentive.
