You can use everything you want. The date. The festivals. The numbers(# of gifts won, # of giveaways you made, and # of comments)

I don't think one needs a specific reason to give away a game :)
If I have a spare key or a gift, I make giveaways on fridays 13th, on Halloween or just whenever I feel like it :)
