I just started using this site, and thought it would be fun to try to make a puzzle GA. I wanted to try to come up with the puzzle beforehand because it might take me awhile to make. Is it possible to know what the URL for an invite-only GA is before you make it? Can you choose what it will be? Also, are they always completely random assortments of upper-case letters, lower-case letters, and numbers? I say one that was all lower-case letters, which is pretty unlikely if that's the case.

No, it's not possible to know the URL of a giveaway before creating it. Just set it to start after some hours so you can get the puzzle done by then or make it last longer. And you cannot choose it either. It's always random, as far as I know. Unlikely is not impossible.

While the site dose have the capability of making custom giveaway URLs with any 5 characters, I think you need to be a supermod or higher to use that functionality.

What I did was (kind of messy, bear with me) I had the create pages open at the same time, entered in all the information other than the links. Then launched the giveaway, entered the link quickly into the puzzle, launched the puzzle, and popped that link into the thread to post right away. It's a little bit hectic, but I prefer that over trying to scramble and rush myself.

While it's not possible to know the characters of a giveaway before creating it, you can make a giveaway a month in advance and then take your time to create the puzzle. Once you are satisfied with the result, you can wait until a specific date (say, a week before the giveaway ends) and post it on the forum. And if you change your mind or don't make the puzzle at all, no worries - as long as the giveaway has no entries, it will end without you losing and giveaway slots or "received" rep.
