So. Some kids asks where to find an old obscure game he played with his dad a long time ago (the dad have since passed away) and this community sorts him out within three minutes of posting... I love this place!

Nice you found Warlords on gog, to which somebody pointed you: it is one of the vintage games that had a lot of expectation on that platform, and people has been waiting many years until they made it available again not long ago.
On gog you can find also Warlords 3, in case you're interested.
It must be good, but I cannot say, since my experience is only with the 1st and 2nd.
I still play them every now and then in the Mac version (on an old ppc laptop or though emulation) and they are both great, they even attract my kids even if they are pretty old.
I think that gog's version runs on Dosbox, so the looks will be different from the Mac version.
