Excited?
Ubisoft and Rockstar are in the gray zone when their games are within and outside of their own game clients.

I haven't even played a Battle Royale game and I'm already sick of the genre.

Battle Royale
Not that surprising, called it back when PUBG became the n1 game on steam.
This to me is exactly how much the genre is worth, inserting is as just a mode, rather than that being the full extent of the game.
Unfortunately the game for me might not be COD, but perhaps Dying light, or maybe Rockstar will add something to the multiplayer of the upcoming Read Dead

I've always wondered when ActiBlizzard would start put all their games on Battle.net for multiplayer infrastructure etc. Easy way to pocket the money you'd otherwise pay Valve and all that.
Guess that with Destiny 2 and now this, that proves "when" is "now".
Also, battle royale mode. Doing nothing original in a series that's being criticized a fair amount for being stagnant in multi-player, instead jumping into the "emerging genre" which is already a filled niche by now. Eh. Maybe it can fill the void left by Radical Heights.

Hate all these different clients, honestly hope to see a new one open up in the future that just integrates Steam, Uplay, Origin, Battle.net, Epic Games, Rockstar, GoG, and the rest into a single client. Even if just a 3rd party front end that combines the rest under the hood.
Sucks having to deal with all the crap.

Yeah, I got like 1600+ on steam, another 70 or so on GoG, 50 or so on Uplay and another 50 on Origin, Microsoft Store got like 2 or 3 plus Rockstar for GTA5 (Bastards won't give a steam key and having it as a non-steam addon still sucks) Would be nice to have a central spot.

Activision Blizzard doesn't need any other client for their game as anything put on Battlenet will have a massive amount of people playing and a large number of sales even if the game doesn't turn out all that great.

COD population on PC is small, i wonder how they sold WW2 about 1 million on PC, but since it will be on battle net cod will die even earlier, good luck to them.

Yeah, yeah, this is what they said about Diablo 3, StarCraft 2, Overwatch as well. Same goes for Battlefield on Origin. Thing is, as hard as it may be to admit, there is a world outside Steam, and the bigger that world is, the better for the gamers.

That lowered the chance of me buying the game from 3% to 0%.

Lol, if they don't want their game to sell at all then they should just not make them. Why even bother?
People used to play the game for the single-player because it was good. The trends are showing that single player games are making a comeback. Just mess with that. Unless CoD changes it engine drastically, the Battle Royale will just not even work well with a huge number of people. Multiplayer hasn't innovated either, so it's just a new skin again. Literally the only thing that was different with each game was their single player campaign.
Well, anyways, this will lose sales. No question about it. Battlenet might be good, but it has barely any marketshare. Good luck to them, but this just seems like them making excuses to finally fully scrap the PC ports.

I got COD WWII at launch and now i only have 11hrs in SP and 47 hrs in MP which mostly was on zombie mode :) and after watching the trailer all i saw was some some copycat from Rainbow 6 (with operators and SP missions for them!) , Titanfall (sliding and movements) and Overwatch , and of course all on the same Black Ops 3 redesigned maps! GG Activision, i'm sure they are gonna introduce a whole new loot box system too :)

Kill me. I think I hate modern fps. Halo, Battlefield, COD, I can't enjoy them anymore.
Also fuck the Battle Royale trend. Can't it die out already?
Comment has been collapsed.
Why should it as long as there are people who enjoy it like every other game trend. I mean neither i like BR games but who cares as long as people have a great time.

'cause it annoys me. I not a fan of battle Royale but am constantly hearing about it 'cause its so popular, amd having to deal with my brothers trying to make me play it.
And I mean, some battle royale games are fine, but fortnite is the most popular and I absolutely hate it and don't wanna see or hear about it anymore.

Was just announced that CODBO4 will be Battlenet exclusive. Seemed really odd to make it exclusive at first, but with COD doing pretty bad on PC since like BLOPS2 pretty much, maybe this will rejuvenate it on PC somehow. Battle Royale is what could potentially bring the series back to life on PC, and Activision probably doesn't want to share any of the profits with Valve for that. :p
What do you all think?
EDIT: Also regular multiplayer is now 5v5 instead of 6v6. Weird.
