Excited?
For more than 10 years I've been a Battlefield player. And I'll remain to be.

Voted "Not at all". I will never understand the mentality of those that voted "would be, but it isn't on steam".
Maybe it's just because I love playing as many games as possible, but restricting yourself to a single platform seems very counter productive as a gamer.

A lot of people only like using steam. (It's why I added to the poll, and it is the second more voted. lol)

I am aware. But being aware doesn't mean I understand =P
As I said. My mentality is "Play as many games as possible". Steam is the mainstream platform, but it lacks many games. To limit oneself to me just seems counter productive. You miss out on superior sales, fun experiences, and potentially even amazing communities in games due to such an avoidable thing.

I am surprised it took them this long to finally ditch Steam. I also expect Bethesda to put TES6 on their own launcher as well when they release it around 2025. Steam has been gradually turning into a worse version of itch.io for 2-3 years by now, I guess once even UbiSoft realises that it is pointless to sell there, Valve can finally realise its real goal and turn into a lootbox exchange service for a few games and leave behind this pesky store business.
And yes, as a few others said, totally called the battle royale mode. Also expecting it to pop up in the next Battlefield.

Ubisoft will stop selling their games on steam sooner or later as they started having lower discounts on steam than uplay. I suppose thats a good thing as valve is so lazy to fix anything on steam. Lets hope that if the monopoly of valve stops they will step up their services. We are on 2018 and they lack basic features of 2014.

Most of the people I know that play Call of Duty games don't really do the single player campaign, they get it for the multiplayer. This new article from from VG247.com mentions that only 4% of Black Ops 3 players finished the single player campaign. If that's the case then it kinda makes sense from a development standpoint on why they would want to put all their time and resources into multiplayer.

I played and liked every PC CoD campaign, while never touching the multiplayers. I still welcome this, because the stupid games are quite expensive, and if no further singleplayer campaigns will exist, I will save a lot of dollares.
Only fitting for me that it ends up on Battle net, since I have no interest in anything Blizzard made in the last 17 years.

Hey, let's bump this with some more news about the game.
Yes, there will be new maps added to the game after launch. Yes, you'll need to get the Season Pass to get them. (I'm calling it for what it is, Activision thinks "Black Ops Pass" sounds better.)
No, there are no overpriced map packs this time around, just an all or nothing deal. To top it off, you need to get one of the special editions to get the pass. Or wait and buy it at an unspecified later date.
Apparently fans of the franchise are pretty pissed off about this.

I just saw this. I've been working through my backlog and am currently playing Infinite Warfare and Modern Warfare Remastered with WWII next in line. After receiving an email from Humble a few moments ago announcing Black Ops IIII pre-orders going live I noticed it's only for battle.net and will not have a campaign or Steam version. I've literally purchased every single Call of Duty since the original solely for the campaigns. Without Steam and a campaign this will be the first one I skip. :(

Was just announced that CODBO4 will be Battlenet exclusive. Seemed really odd to make it exclusive at first, but with COD doing pretty bad on PC since like BLOPS2 pretty much, maybe this will rejuvenate it on PC somehow. Battle Royale is what could potentially bring the series back to life on PC, and Activision probably doesn't want to share any of the profits with Valve for that. :p
What do you all think?
EDIT: Also regular multiplayer is now 5v5 instead of 6v6. Weird.
