https://www.steamgifts.com/discussion/HwIRD/questions-about-the-steam-deck - Is the first original thread

A lot of hep and great answers came to me here about Steam Deck questions I had and thanks a lot of useful information was learned

A lot of people said ProtonDB was the site to check which I have done but here is what I need to know and don't quite understand

It loaded in my account and said something like 2% verified is that correct or is it that a lot of games haven't been rated yet?

Also which is better Platinum or Native or are they about the same ?

Thanks again

Steam Deck Verified - Steam's official certification for play on the Steam Deck

Native - Runs natively on Linux
Platinum - Runs perfectly out of the box
Gold - Runs perfectly after tweaks

Native means that a Linux version of the game exists. Platinum means that the Windows version runs perfectly on Proton. These aren't the same and it's not always true that the native version is the better running option.

I have no idea where you gathered the 2% verified. But it's not really relevant either way.

You "use" ProtonDB by searching for the game you are interested in. Then you'll see its current rating, what people report and possible solutions, if needed. That's all.

You can improve your experience by adding such addons to your browser.

that extension might be very useful thanks I got the 2% from what the ProtonDB website said when i loaded in my account

Do all Native games run on Steam Deck then?

edit: also when looking in the Steam store is there a way using the extension to only view Steam deck platinum games?

All native Linux games should run, yes. But sometimes Linux ports aren't really well done and run worse than the Windows version via Proton.

I guess that you have relatively many noname games in your library, which haven't been tested yet. In general way more than 2% are verified.

2%

you can see stats in this page: https://www.protondb.com/dashboard

once logged-in change category to "personal library", you can view percentages of games deck verified/playable or protondb ratings plat/gold/etc
