Sure, use free shitty antivirus and complain that it don't work as it should.

Just download G Data and you will have 30 days of free updates and after that program will still work. You can jump between it and Kaspersky trials etc.

The only option is to delete your steam library and re-download everything. You better do it fast because the virus might spread to people in your friends list and then they will have to do the same.

creepy, i had it too yesterday morning, when i opened my laptop, avast said that a file in steam has a virus, and my sister had that too around the same time :o

Or use avast and try default setting with these: heuristic low. I'am use avast many years better than payable brothers...
