Let's make collector's edition without a game (Bethesda and new Wolfenstein)

They should have shipped it with a coupon or code for the game at least.

We've had items stripped out of Collector Editions. We've had Collector Editions limited to one country. I think we've had Collector Editions vanish.

This is the first time we've had a Collector's Edition... without a game. What the hell?

They're essentially selling a Collector's Edition Upgrade.

Assuming the price is fair, I like this plan. There's zero risk of being unable to buy a copy of the Collector's Edition due to your local stores not having any left. Just order direct from Bethesda.

Somehow, that kind of stuff doesn't surprise me anymore... I've seen it all. :P

Guess they want to sell collection edition to everyone and they don't want to make how-many-platforms number 1 edition - so no hardware-fanboys won't start hate-wars because their box wasn't as important as other.

Of course, that means they'll be hated by everyone :)
