As written on the title, I would like to ask if I would be allowed to publish a list of games(Steam keys and maybe a few gifts) to sell for Bitcoins on the Trade section of SG.
If possible, I would like to receive an official answer from a member of SG staff, just to be sure to not receive a sospension two minutes after publishing the list...because I listened to a not-so-official answer from a random user ;)

The list would mainly include games bought on official reseller like Humble Bundle, Indie Gala, Groupees, ecc...

P.S: I searched around the forum, but I didn't found any discussion pertaining this kind of argument; only a few generics one about how it work Bitcoin or where to buy videogames(outside of SG) with Bitcoins. If the argument has been already discussed, could someone kindly point me to the right page, please?

Would you be interested on buying a Steam key/gift with Bitcoins?

I don't know, I'll wait and see how it goes.
Fruit or salad of your choice(Neutral/Indifferent option).

People sell games for paypall here. My guess you can trade for anything as long you are not scamming people)

Few people will pay funds for bundle keys, and with no rep on your side, you would find any offers unlikely.

Thank you for your opinion, DeltaBladeX =)
In the past I've already made a few trades using other system of payment like Paypal, but their fee is too high(expecialy for low payment: in some case the fee was so high and the price of the sold game so low that I was the one paying it...).
I did some trades (1:1 cards, mainly) outside of SG with not too many problems(luckly); but I will have to start from somewhere, here on SG, even if with a nonexistent reputation(even the now most famous traders started from zero on their old days)...let's hope everything will work out ;)

Never thought to search it this way(I only checked the discussions section)! :O
Thank you very much.
It seem that there are already quite a few using them; didn't notice till now.

If an official statement is what you want, then you should just file a support ticket and ask them about it.

Thanks for your suggestion. I didn't want to burden the support, already overloaded of tickets, with my question, but it seem that it would be the best course to take.

that's not necessary. people are already selling for bitcoin here. you can of course do the same.

You said you expected a reply from them in this post if possible.
As you said you wouldn't be satisfied with a answer from a normal user, you would have to burden support with work, anyway. So filing a ticket would be thes best way to go.
Nevertheless I'm sure they are glad to answer your question. maybe you can even post their answer here, so other users can profit from that.

Re-reading my message, I must admit that I could have written it in a better way. Sorry for the confusion caused.
I meant that I was not in a hurry to receive an immediate answer; I see the ticket as a system to directly contact the staff for an urgent or serious problem that may require an answer as fast as possible(I don't think my case is one of that kind and for that reason I prefered to not disturb them), whilst the forum is a place where they can check calmly, from time to time(even days), without any urgency.
If I'll end sending them a ticket, I'll make sure to report their answer here, to help others with the same doubt =)

It's of course a good idea to not bother about anything, but if you have a question, that only support can answer for you, you can really just write a ticket. That´s what it is for!

Considering people buy/sell games for Paypal and Steam wallets, and Bitcoins are legal (for now, anyways), I don't see why there would be any issues with it... but hearing an official statement would be advised, since they may not want BTC usage on here. Based on your poll, I'd say the demand for BTC is extremely low though, so don't be surprised if it takes months before you get any trade offers o:

Referral links aren't illegal(and mostly welcome on the majority of forums), but they are still forbidden on SG.
I always prefer to not make assumption on something not clear enough ;)
The fact that someone else did something(made a trade topic with BTC in this case) doesn't mean that he was right, so better clear all the details pertaining the situation, before starting to do it myself, just to be safe.
I don't expect to sell everything by tomorrow(not even if I were to use Paypal or other payment methods), but, who now? :P

well, if you still suspect that BC might be forbidden here, you could just check the FAQ/guidelines.

There are no rules on what you want to trade for games as long as you don't scam. But there aren't many people here who trade Bitcoins for games.

According to my totally not made up recollection of the FAQ,
the only 3 things you are strictly forbidden to sell are:

  • frozen yogurt (as it might spoil on delivery)
  • "sexy-time" with goats and pigs (you can't ask for consent)
  • kellogg's cereals (since THE incident)

I found a free moment and sent a ticket; the kind TempeteJoachim answered quite fast with the following message:

Hello Aleandrus,

It's fine, we don't have any rule against this. You can trade pretty much anything you want as long as it is "legal" to trade it (you can't trade a Steam account for example, because it is explicitly forbidden by their Terms of Service).

So it seems that I(and others) will not have any problem to make a Trade discussion with Bitcoin.
I would like to thanks everyone who tried to help solve my doubt(except you, DominusFerrus! You ruined my cereals childhood and gave me nightmares!!! XS)

P.S: with the new freezing boxes is quite easy to deliver frozen yogurt on time and so is no more forbidden. You should update your not-to-do list ;)
