I spent much time playing in coop-survival game - Killing Floor 1. I didn't see much cheaters except couple ones. This title allgedly has VAC-protection judging by icon next to server name in master server browser, but I know it does not work. The same can be said about my other fav yet abandoned game - Dark Messiah of Might & Magic.

Well to keep this story short I recorded the cheater, I found his steam profile where he was posting screenshots and videos of blatant cheating (aimbot, wallhacking etc. ). He spent entire 900 hours in this game and never got banned or anything. He moved now to TF2 and CS where he also cheats. I used to listen his stupid speaks while chatting with him one of the days and he told me that he uses software, which is undetected by anticheat and he will continue to cheat whatever I would tell him.

Many players reported him either by profile reports, recording videos etc, but he was never punished. Me personally wrote lengthy report with all his own screenshots where healthbars, models were visible through walls and Aimbot UI, but it seems he is still innocent to this day. Contacting with devs or Steam did not work.

Since then about 2 years passed and he still continues what he used to do..

Please dont use "cancer" so lightly.

He got reported, devs/steam don't do anything about, nothing else you can do.

Oh good, someone else said it.

I'm honestly not sure what the concern with cheating in non-PvP games is, myself.
I mean, I wouldn't want to play with them because playing games without challenge ramped to max seems silly to me, but I don't begrudge them doing what works for them- and more notably, I don't stress about what others are doing outside of how it directly affects me.

You said "I used to listen his cancer-worthy speaks while chatting with him one of the days "
For some who had experience with that terrible disease or have/had a relative having it (these days 1 on 5 people will have a chance on getting some form). people who have passed away because of it, it's hard for some to see that term used that way, i think it's very incorrect, and there many alternative words you can choose, i noticed it a few times too while playing TF2 and they used cancer like a swear word too, one time one even had it as a part of his nickname. in a horrible way.

I think most of the time, those things are said by (young) kids, who probably most of the time don't even have a clue what it involves, but still.

I had experience with it when someone died due to this disease, but I keep distance from it and don't take it personally.

But you are different, and so is everyone else on the forum, there are some that take it personally, you need to keep that in mind.

You got to be kidding me with that load of bull... I've lost the two people that have been closest to me in my life to cancer and I don't go around telling others when and how they can use that word...

Noone was forcing him to tell him what to do, some just told him how others might considered it inappropriate, frustrating.

I could also be in despair for the rest of my life and contemplate every evening how could it happen, but there's nothing what you could do.

Life happens.

Let's come back to topic..

I'm not sure you're replying where you intended to. Whenever I find one of these easily offended people getting triggerd by a word and demanding the world to change to fit their special quirks I find it appropriate to ask, at least once, if they really are serious about it.

I don't have any strong, or particularly well informed, opinions on cheating but I recon it would be too resource intensive to have a well working non automated system in place.

Just don't use the word cancer. Seeing people use that word like you did is really frustrating, since I know people that suffered from it.

So this post was about cheating and turned into a cancer debate. Ok, people never fail to impress me.

Anyways, theres nothing you can do, there's a lot of cheats that are undetected, move along and let him be, VAC will come eventually.

Cheating is cancer, devs doing nothing about cheaters is even worse.
