Also, I've asked this before but couldn't find the answer. Why is VZVB going after Valve and not a company with way more money, like Apple?

My opinion is the lawsuit is bullsheet.
If you want the ability to trade/resale, game on a console or buy from a site that offers said ability (I use 2 of them).
Valve's Steam distribution has added value to entice purchases through Steam instead of other D2D (& similar type)sites.

How about this idea:
Valve introduces general steam card booster packs (both common and rare). Each game on steam would have a trade in value of x number of these boosters (common packs for cheaper games, rare packs for expensive/popular games.some games may be worth a mixture). It is then up to the user whether he/she wants to keep the cards/packs or sell them on the market. The traded in game key goes back into the steam vault to be resused.

Selling games on the market brings up way too many issues. Cards have been a major success so far. With this model of trade-in Valve and the publisher/developer receive their share and do not have to worry about the legalities of resale. The user can choose to do whatever (to trade in or not to trade in).

I would lough my ass of if valve just pulled steam off from Germany if they win this everyone would do the same thing.. The Indy devs are the ones who will suffer the most.
P.S How can this even go to court if you agreed to this when you made your Steam Account?

Could you imagine how bad the state of pre-order exclusives will get if this passes? Do. Not. Want.

Valve should take Steam from Germany simple as that... This will affect Valve if won but more importantly the Developers are going to get screwed over from this. Unless you give 50% of the amount you sold the game for to the dev and 30% to valve which basically means you only get 20% of it's cost in your wallet.

I think matters like this need to be seriously discussed and I am glad something like this is happening, laws have lagged behind for quite some time and we need to establish and update them in regards to current matters.
I would like to see where this goes, rather than bad mouthing Germany and blindly praising valve as a saviour of mankind is something I would rather not do.
It does not have to be all bad, perhaps a reasonable compromise can be reached that is beneficial to all parties.
