summer sale n stuff

so i think last year or the year before steam sales had daily sales and such, so do we not get that this year and can i stop waiting and just buy what ever i want because the discount isnt going to become better any time soon?

They removed daily and flash deals once they added refunds. So just buy what you want now.

well that kinda sucks, for me those sales were the great part of summer/winter sales cuz you actualy had to check it now and then

If you are trying to save every cent, then your first big mistake is buying Steam games on Steam. And no, I'm not referring to the grey market.

This. Steam has very powerful demand, they don't need to offer best prices, they will make huge profit anyways. It's the smaller authorized re-sellers who makes the best deals.

Same. The community-voted flash deals were a nice touch, but the daily discount boost of random games felt like bullshit.

I just liked that there was something to look forward to every day. Now there's no reason for me to check the store again past the first day, the prices aren't going to change so it's just downhill from here :p

Yeah but most of the time you were waiting if the game you wanted will appear in featured daily or flash deals so you will pay less for it. Instead of buying the game day 1 and immediately playing it you were waiting two weeks like a moron and then even may bought it for the very same price you could on the first day. I'm glad they stopped that madness :)

You can still check for the daily highlights. For me, that's way better. I still check everyday, just to see if there's a great game I missed. But with the flash sales it kind of sucked, since you had to get it then and if you just bought it the day before, you were basicly just fucked.

Yes. There won't be any flash sales or daily deals. It was like this in last Winter sale as well.

Yeah it's not a good sale. Publishers now really don't need to offer great deals because people compulsively buy anything now just because it's "Summer Sale". Most of the prices are same as last year or as they were in Winter Sale. This might be first time I won't buy a thing.
