Arma - Games from the Arma series, except for Arma Tactics and Arma: Gold Edition which were won here.
Garry's Mod Source Games - Games which are installed just because of the resources for Garry's Mod
Serious Sam - All Serious Sam games
Sid Meier's - Sadly only 3 games currently in this category
SteamGifts - Games which were won here
Uninstalled - Games which I don't have installed or I don't play
Games - Everything else
I want to re-organize my categories but I don't know how. :/

I spent quite a lot of time figuring out what works for me, hope I can give you some tips
! BACKLOG --> No Explanation needed
! F2P - MULTI - MMO --> Games that don't count towards your inventory, or best played multiplayer
A - Great --> Most enjoyed games
B - Good --> Okay
C - Bad --> Trash
Indie --> Those games that are too original
No Interest --> They're good, just not for me like simulators
Old Classics --> Too old graphics, mechanics but in their time they were really great!
I really suck at commenting here, would be better if we could write HTML lol.

I just sort them by genre, but I give them cheeky names that try too hard to be clever but aren't.

I started with some tool that did it automatically to begin, but then I didn't like it so much and did it myself.
Faves, Action, Adventure, Audio, Casual, Early Access, First Person, GTA, Indie, Lego, Racing, RPG, Simulation, Sports, Strategy, Uncategorized.

I used to have a system that went something like In Progress, Anytime, Installed (or something), Unfinished, Finished, Dislike, Problems. But I made a mistake while using Depressurizer that caused me to lose all my categories. :( So now I just use the Depressurizer settings, which can apply multiple categories based on Steam's categorization. It's not necessarily ideal for me, but I have too many games to manually re-categorize everything all over again.

I just hide all of the games I'll most likely never play

And then I back up the library file and take screen shots, just in case, because it would be a hassle if I lost my library file, which has happened before.

Do you use categories? If the answer is yes, how do you rename these categories to organize your library?
I'm curious because I have a chaotic library, I only used 2 categories "Meh" and "Good", but I don't like it.
EDIT: So, i modified my categories. I've "only" 100 games and I like this organization:
-Favorites
-Beta
-Bioshock Trilogy
-Dark Souls PTDE & II
-Football Manager
-Gifts & Bundles
-Historical
-Metro Redux Bundle
-Multiplayer Online
-Portal Bundle
-Racing & Sim
-Square Enix
-Survival Online
-Telltale
Many categories, but I like it.
