I had a G930. It's a pretty good headset, but I was experiencing some problems with it during the early days after I bought it. For some reason, it was interfering with the WiFi connection at my home and so sometimes it restarted itself. But it doesn't have any problems with the headset at work, though. The earpads weren't very good in terms of quality either. After a while, it started to peel off. But those two are the only problems that I had. The headset is pretty great overall. Great sound quality, and pretty handy programmable macro on the side.

Beyerdynamic MMX 300, don't buy cheap, you buy twice this time, especially with headset stuff (Not that these two mentioned are that cheap to begin with...)
Logitech isn't excatly a great headphonemaker, and the G35 has or atleast had, i dunno which it is now, a clicking microphone issue (I actually own a pair of these) and the sound wasn't that great either.
Any good stereo headphone will beat the living snot out of these 7.1 fancy pantsy headphones.
Sennheisers are a great choice too, or AKG's
But if you want the complete headset experience, go with the one I recommended. Otherwise a table mic and good pair of headphones will do the job too, and cost you less then the one I recommend.

I have the wireless version. I like it a lot since it allows you to hear music / chat while you are in the kitchen, on the toilet or on the way to bed (you can adjust volume and have 3 configurable keys on the headet, so you don't need to be at the computer).
This is my first 5.1-Headset, so I can't compare it to others, but it sounds perfect to me and have never heard complaints about the mic as well.
The battery life is great (I'd say about 8 hours and I already have it for a year) and when the battery is low you just plug it in and use it like a wired headset.
It helps having an recharger for the outlet (not included), so you can recharge it at night and don't have to do it while using it - but it's standard mini-USB, so your mobile-recharger should work.

You've heard my opinion already, it's not really just wireless vs wired though with the G35 vs G930, The G35 is a lot heavier and doesn't sit as tight as the G930 either. (the headset being tight is for me definetly a good thing, feels so much nicer.
Battery life = 10hours and that it means definetly 10hours + it recharges much faster then it consumes, which means if you plug it in 1hour you can use it for 3-4 hours.
interference definetly depends on the environment and you can only find out by actually trying it, I personally have no interference at all.

I had the G930 but had nothing but issues with it. It would keep refusing to switch to Dolby mode so I was stuck in some weird "not really 3D" mode. It worked fine for my friend though, so just something to be aware of.
Audio quality wise it's no-where near as good as an equivalent priced paid of headphones from someone like Sennheiser so keep that in mind. I found the sound quality rather muddy and generally compressed.
Tech wise, they have good range, recharge quickly, the Mic is good (and the fact it auto mutes when you tilt it up is a nice touch). I didn't have any interference issues either.
In short, if you're set on a headset, then it's good. But personally I'd recommend actual headphones plus a mic for much better audio quality and no issues.

I've got a Sennheiser PC-360 and I can't complain at all... very solid headset, I've had it for 2 years and it's still like new. It's comfortable and the sound is amazing... It's also fairly expensive though. One thing I regret is that I didn't buy one without microphone, I would love to use it on my phone while I'm out, but that microphone is so damn big... I would rather get a decent headset without a mic and buy one of those cheap standalone mics for whenever it's needed.

Just 2 things i'd consider:
Do you have a lot of Noise around your House ? Unless that's the case i would not use closed headphones at home, because they stress your ear much more with the pressure, while often having a very unoriginal sound with music (eg much bassheavier than intended).
Google for broken logitech g35 as imagesearch. The earpieces tend to break at this weak and small plastic part, a small drop or even the pressure you have to apply by pulling the earpieces apart for taking the damn things off might do the trick over time (..at least on an average broad skull with long hair)

Got the Razer Tiamat 7.1 headset i mentioned a bit ago in the thread and have been using it for about a week now and it is by far the best headset i have used, well worth the price. Extremely comfortable and sounds amazing with my X-FI Titanium soundcard. With it being an analog headset having a good sound card can make the headset even better unlike usb headsets which use their own drivers and software which aren't always that great. So far haven't had any gripes or issues with it and highly recommend it, especially if you have a dedicated sound card.
One other big plus i want to mention is that i wear glasses and have no problem with this headset. Every other headset i have used started hurting my ears after about 15-20 minutes.

I know there's another thread, but I'd feel bad hijacking it since my decisions mostly already made. I was recommended the Logitech G35 and have heard nothing but good about it but the G930 also appeals. Basically, it comes down to wireless or wired, there's no other difference I know of. Can anyone who's tried them recommend one or the other? Why? What sort of interference might I get with the wireless version? What's the overall battery life like?
Update: I ended up going for the G930. So far, it's absolutely great. I did keep in mind all the helpful advice that was given and in the future I'll check them out in more depth, but the speakers of this are better than any headphones I've had before and the microphone is apparently crystal clear especially compared to my old deskbound one. Had some minor issues at first with the wireless, clicked out occasionally, but that seemed to be a conflict with some software on my PC that I've sorted out. No problems since the first hour of use. Very comfy, even for long periods of time.
