what's your opinion on it
Why exactly does it matter to you? If nobody joins or if some enter and leave again, the result is the same.
And if people carefully consider before they enter or reconsider later is also irrelevant. They have the right to do both.
This thread makes so little sense, it almost motivates me to debate in another thread why people make such threads. ;-D

It shouldn't matter to me and it doesn't anger me or cause me any ill-feelings. This is nothing other than just not understanding what's the point ;-; I'm not debating whether it's morally correct or if people should or shouldn't.
Thanks for your input though :)

People joining for saving up points is a thing, probably do shorter GAs
I generally avoid it with group GAs and low numbers, so I don't give the gifter a false feeling of safety to reach that 5 entries for CV
people are more prone to stay in giveaways when they have less of a chance to win, rather than more.
That's right, I do it for ratio reasons

Probably to save points to use on other GA, or yes after some thoughts they're not interested, so they give up, and it's nice from them that they leave it to someone who wants it

I can sometimes do that when I got the game thanks to a trade after joining the GA, but before it ends to avoid winning a game I already own

Some people push thousands of points to make it big during major events. They park them by entering giveaways and before the GA ends they remove their entry. Rinse and repeat.
Could be one of the other reasons Masafor mentioned in his above comment too. He knows his customers very well.

Sometimes I enter a giveaway at work and then promptly forget about it and when I see it ending, I remember to check some gameplay and decide it's not for me. I'd rather leave games I know I will never touch to people who will play them... a rather optimistic approach, considering how many people play their wins, I know, but still...

I occasionally leave GAs. Rarely, but it happens.
Mostly with games which aren't on my WL but I feel like I might play them and maybe will enjoy them. And half way there I have a change of mind again and leave. The lower the entry number is, the higher my uneasy might become, bc I really question myself if I want it and if it wouldn't be better to give the few other ppl who actually want it a better chance of winning it. And then Nin is already in panicmode and nothing really helps anymore but to pull back xD

If I decide to get the Humble Choice, and I've entered some GAs for them, I'll activate, resync my account and that'll automatically leave any GAs for those games. That's the only reason I'll enter and leave a GA.
I don't save up points because I rarely ever use them all. I'm sitting at 400 points right now haha!

This is obviously not really a thing outside of smaller groups, just to get that out of the way first.
I've had this happen to me about 5-10 times already where I had to re-do my giveaway or remake it as a public GA to have it finished. Why are people joining a giveaway for a game they don't want? I get joining when there are no people and leaving when there are thousands as you have no chance to win but if you join and see you're about to win why not take the win? To protect your ratio? Why'd you join in the first place then if you weren't interested in winning it? Weird mentality to have in general.
I guess people knowing they have 100% won this giveaway gives them a minute to think if they truly want a game or just joined for the heck of it, since from my experience, people are more prone to stay in giveaways when they have less of a chance to win, rather than more. Feels kind of paradoxical but also kind of makes sense in a way...
I'm curious to see what others here think about this and if you've experienced this too :)
